First off, I'm loving the wiki!
And I figured I would post a few things I've came across here and there.

On your very informative Parasite Eve page. (http://tcrf.net/Parasite_Eve)
There are a couple hidden options that are not listed.

Here are a couple ram codes to access them:
--------------------
Parasite (U)
At the top left chest in the debug menu, press L1+L2 to access the save menu

D009D0F0 0005

At the bottom right chest in the debug menu, press L1+R2 to access another hidden "Get" option

D009D0F0 0006

The option is already open in the Japanese version.

That's quite a bit of info you got there, although some of the images are .jpegs and thus discouraged on the wiki.
Still, thank you for informing me of debugging stuff I've never heard of before.

Also, the last option on the Parasite Eve debug menu (Get for 追加効果 Check) translates to "Get for Additional Effects Check", in case you are wondering.

EDIT:I just realized that 3 of the images of .pngs.

Thanks for the extra info!

I noticed that the page of Revenge of Shinobi does not mention the prototype.

In the PC game 'Sega Smash Pack' there was a prototype version of Revenge of Shinobi (J) included from the Sega Channel. This proto had a Stage Select and an Invincibility Option. The RAM code for the Stage Select didn't change from the final releases.

You can even read about the Stage Select from the included text document that was on the PC disc.

I've always wondered if Diddy Kong Racing has such button codes, since Mickey's Speedway (using the same engine) and Goldeneye (another Rare game with unlockable cheats) have them...

And not just Rare--as someone brought up before on these forums, one of the TimeSplitters games was said, in a developer interview, to have an unlockable code in-game that no one's discovered yet. I wonder who's idea it was was to use these button-codes :p

It's good to see you here, Mez. A lot of cool finds.

@ Celice: I mentioned in that thread the first game does indeed have button codes. And I still don't have the game.

If you want to look into GBA games, here is a list of games that contain the word debug.
Lots of un-found stuff, and many are already known of.

Wow. I all have to say is that's a lot of stuff to find, and that's just ASCII text nonetheless.

Sometimes games just have leftover debug text though, and none of the code that actually uses it.

Is there anyway to note how many times the word "debug" is mentioned on these GBA ROM's, I'd say the ones with the more instances of the word that hasn't already been investigated would be valuable information. If that's too hard though, don't be too bothered about it.

Hello again.
I was looking into the Family Computer Disk System (FDS) games for hidden stuff.
Didn't really find much except for possibly one game.

----

The FDS game "Hao-Kun no Fushigi na Tabi" has a known hidden menu, shown after inputting 2 of the developers names:

I believe there's another menu to be found using the same method.
This is the text from a hex editor:
SPECIAL FUNCTION!..@
HIGH SCORE RECORD CLEAR!..@
HAO JUMP MODE1"..@
HAO JUMP MODE2
Here are the developer names from the hex editor if it's any help:
**** MAKING STAFF ****.
<<< STORY >>> .
HAHI / ONSEN .
<<< TITLE >>> .
NOA / ONSEN / NISHI.
<<< MUSIC >>> .
PINA / ONSEN / .....
<<< PROGRAM >>> .
HAHI / ONSEN .
<<< DEBUG >>> .
MANY FRIENDS
Also, Wikipedia says that the game was known as Mystery Quest on the NES, maybe the same thing is in that game too?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hao-kun_no_Fushigi_na_Tabi

----

I thought about making a page for the game, but I don't actually know that this potential menu even exist. Not only that but I'm afraid I would just mess something up since I don't know much of anything about making Wiki pages.

I notice that there is no category for the FDS yet either.
http://new.tcrf.net/Category:Famicom_Disk_System_games

----

The only reason I was even worried about trying to hurry and make a page for it, is because of a find I had for the Game Boy game Ninja Gaiden Shadow.
http://new.tcrf.net/Ninja_Gaiden_Shadow

I found the Debug Menu back in April of 2012 and posted it here:
http://oldgamehacking.blogspot.com/search/label/Ninja%20Gaiden%20Shadow

As well as the video here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBaBQCR1c3s

I see that tcrf page was made on July of 2012 and I was never credited for the find :-(

Anyone want to help me out here? Borderlands 2 has a debug menu, with quite a few true/false settings stating options about a debug screen, but even as I try, nothing happens. There's even an option for debug feedback in the settings of the game. Is it possible that there's commands that need to be entered for the menu to be activated? Also, it may have been leaked in a pre-release video, possibly one where the customization system is showcased.

The only info we had back when the page was created was the debug menu text; the code itself wasn't actually added until last month, so I'm assuming none of us knew about it until then.

Anyway, it's always possible that someone else will figure something out independently of your research. We're a curious bunch, and we often tend to search for stuff in games without checking Google/YouTube first to see if anything's already been found. The guy that added the debug code to the wiki (nensondubois) does a lot of Game Boy hacking, and I have a feeling he discovered how to activate the menu on his own; if that's the case, the information will remain credited to him. I can ask him about it on IRC tomorrow just to be sure, though.

I may check out the Mystery Quest/Hao-kun thing later tonight when I'm home from work (at least as far as the NES version goes, since I'm not terribly knowledgeable about the FDS).

I really don't understand why who found it matters. It's just something in a video game that you didn't make yourself. In the speedrunning community it's similar with everyone wanting credit for finding a glitch and half the time it turns into arguments over copying each other and pointing back to sketchy videos, etc.. Crediting someone on something that they found is pretty tough in a lot of cases considering there are a lot of people out there and, as BMF said, not everyone is going to check google too indepth.

The alt attribute should be used to give a short description
of an image; longer descriptions should be given with the
longdesc attribute which takes a URL linked to the description.
These measures are needed for people using non-graphical browsers.

For further advice on how to make your pages accessible
see http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL.
You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and
properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
