I just came across this while rereading the Unreal 3 2004 leak at the Beta Archive, actually.

A post mentioned that COGs were seen on the loadscreens of a U2 beta. Anyway to confirm this?

Gears of War, like Marcus Fenix.

I'm only interested when I was rereading a topic. I looked on TCRF and saw nothing about it. I was curious, because it seems Gears (Unreal War) was in development for a really long time.

It took me a bit to figure it out too, having never played the games before. I thought the Gears guy looked like a generic Unreal grunt, myself...

That's pretty interesting. I need a copy of the game again, I do like the reference to Unreal Tournament in the beginning.

There is a bundle goes on sale on Steam every once in a while. It includes all the Unreal games from the original to UT3. It was 15 dollars when I picked it up.

I never could get through Gears of War, but that tidbit still interests me. I need to redownload Unreal II myself, maybe I'll be arsed to do that and look myself.

I know for a fact that there's a toilet go-kart in either Unreal II or Tournament II's files. It's pretty funny to look at.

UT2004, and it's actually used! If you beat the Single Player tournament thing with the MMMMMMISTER CROW skin it'll appear as an option in the Vehicle Arena mutator.

I had no idea it can actually be unlocked. I used to know the console command that summoned it though. :B "summon Onslaught.ONSGenericSD", if memory serves.

Nice, I never knew it was actually used. Once I get a copy I'll see if the code works. Is it by chance on Steam?

Yes, all Unreal games are on Steam.

Just wait for the Summer Sale if you want to get them all in one shot.

I want to explore the files really bad, and on an interesting note, Epic Games used different shaders for their UnrealEd Engine 2 games than the basic ones provided by the default editor that other companies would license for their own games. Quite selfish if you ask me, but the games that used Nvidia had the real advantage. I find this wierd if you ask me, why wouldn't they be provided by default? Epic, after all built the Unreal Engine.
