We would need to hold an "invite a new member" day where most people commit to inviting someone to Jul and encouraging him/her to post.

If enough people do this it could start a wave of new posts and threads and hopefully we'll just build on the momentum.

If 100 people get invited in one day and encouraged to post that adds 100 posts ... if they all make two posts, that's already 200 just by themselves.

The only way to get the forum back up is to bring in new people who will replace the people who have left. Now for the Lords of Jul to sanction my idea and encourage an "invite a friend" day

I think that's true for a lot of people, considering they aren't spending time here.

Not that it's a bad thing, but it's a little sad how this community used to be more active, but unfortunately, life started seriously for several people. Which leaves people to lose their urge to, at the very least, post here (suggesting that they may continue to communicate through IRC or somewhere else).

I guess after a while of just seeing the activity drop like crazy, one can get a little nostalgic of the past. Not that me talking about it makes it any better.

The thing for me is, mostly, a lot of the people I posted with all went onto IRC, then all became busy.

I'm the weird one who still has time TO post, but I don't have much to post about here, since many of my friends are now too busy to post anywhere.

It would be nice for there to be activity, but new blood will be needed--people who have lots of free time, essentially.

I agree that new blood is needed, but how would get a new wave of newcomers? The last person I invited failed on me He had no forum experience and his English wasn't all that great.

Yeah, the way it stands, there is little incentive for new people to come here and be a part of this community. The Cutting Room Floor is one thing, but that still suffers from some people, like me, being intimidated by the apparent complexity of looking for unused stuff in games. That and those people joining mainly for TCRF which doesn't give them any reason to look at any of the other forums we got here.

Well it isn't just on here. It seems to be just a general moving away from forums. There are a few friends I know who used to be a part of FFL/AB I1 who basically do all their talking on FB now.

I had a busy work day. What I was working didn't cooperate so I had to install Windows twice on this one machine. Fun
