In your situation, I would have tried to avoid him as much as possible (I guess you could say 'don't touch the poop' in this situation), and just let him fume on his own.


The fact he immediately went to the boss to complain, and made up bullshit to exaggerate the reason(?) seems like his MO though. Go figure.

Haha! Thanks for sharing your story, that's amazing.

For the record, I removed the original video without watching it because it was 15 minutes long, titled "SaGa Frontier Review/Retrospective", and was obviously made by the poster, all of which made it pretty clear that it wasn't relevant. We have a bot that posts in IRC when someone edits the wiki, so I saw it when he posted it and took it down right away.

Does he still think we were in the wrong for removing the vid, or did you manage to get through to him?

I think he's definitely got some online ridicule coming for his obnoxious behavior, but I wouldn't go so far as to say that he deserves to be doxxed or harassed IRL. That's pretty horrible for anyone, and, like Kon says, drags people into it who were never involved.

His behaviour seems pretty obvious to me. He's just recently discovered that he can make money from Youtube ads, and is now churning out loads of crap videos and spamming them everywhere he can. He's essentially a human spambot - find a popular site such as TCRF and try to embed his spam links/videos in it however he can, choosing something that at a glance might appear to be vaguely relevant so as to have a chance at staying for a while. He got butthurt when that didn't work, and is now probably just trolling for hits.

Pretty standard spammer/"SEO" behaviour.

I also wouldn't think this would be the end or de-escalation point just yet. Probably relented just for the sake of looking like the bigger man when he then tells this story to his friends and followers but completely rewrites the story in his favor.

*shrug* It's just that he fits into a specific personality type that would likely do this. If he can prove me wrong on this I would be really happy to see that. No joke.
