So tonight, for the first time ever, I actually got to be a referee at a pro wrestling event. I'd had a couple of sessions with a high school buddy of mine as to how to do the referee stuff. There really is a lot to it. I came in knowing this already and I still feel like I did an...well, an okay job for a first timer I guess. The refs on TV make this look really, really easy. The guys were really great and gave me some good advice there. It was pretty cool. :3
I also nearly got wanged a few times. Job hazard! I came out fine this time.
I'm gonna have to try this another time or two to see if this is something I'd like to continue on a more permanent basis. For now, it was a great experience.
Here's a few select pictures. I got a few more on my Photobucket.

Thanks! It was a pretty exciting gig. I'd like to do it again, though I'm a little nervous. Hopefully next time I'll just get to do maybe one match or something? Not sure! Need to get back into practice again.
It was nice to hear though that Tony Atlas (a legend in the business) said that I did a good job for a first time! Eee! :3! I heard it through my buddy who's training me.

It's a little promotion called IWE (Independent Wrestling Entertainment). Mostly small-time guys but we got some neat guests, such as Gino Martino (who was seen in History Channel's "Supermen" show), Tony Atlas, former ECW Original Chris Hamrick, and some others.
Honky Tonk Man and Scotty Too Hotty are scheduled for next month, but I dunno if I can make it to any of those. ;-;
