Is there any particular reason to do so, aside from inactivity?

I think a better course of action would simply be to create another subcategory of inactive forums and stuff them all there rather than closing off an area for discussion, no matter how sparsely it's used.

I was actually going to request cannage soon, but hadn't gotten around to it.

The gist of the matter is that lots of people said "let me help!" and that was the last I heard of them. Particularly in the video-production area.

I've got the code that the community contributed saved to my hard drive. Nuke at will!

I agree. Keeping the information in the forum instead of trashing it all, would at least save valuble stuff in it( Thus, Should we decide to restore it, we can refill it with information we already had.).
