Been lurking around and I noticed noone has spoken about Day of Ruin.

From I understand that the game was never released in japan...though it still has all the text in japanese stored in the game. You can force the game to use the language with a action replay code. Is this worth noting or not?

It's unremarkable in the sense that the game is like a lot of DS games where it's fully localised depending on region setting. I haven't tested whether setting a DS to Japanese will make it work (I have a DS capable of it, as I am sure many other people are). If it works, it's not unused.

But yes, if that doesn't work the fact that the entire game script is technically 'cut' because it was never released in Japan is something neat. I would probably have added it myself when I eventually got around to it.

If your talking about setting the Firmware to Japanese, It doesn't do anything besides cause the game to run in english

I've found another lead to explore. According to this Italian and German should also be unused in the US rom.

I never looked into it because it's not that interesting from a TCRF perspective as a completely unused translation, but the code seems to suggest that. Numbers correspond to BIOS language settings.

Language Codes (input in r0)
0=Japanese,
1=English,
2=French,
3=German,
4=Italian,
5=Spanish

As such, the hack I did here should re-enable them too.
