So, this is a curious item (though probably not really). I won an auction for a DMG Gameboy recently which also just happened to throw in a bunch of random, unremarkable titles that I'm pretty sure the seller was just trying to get rid of. Further proof of that was that he included the GBC only game (as in, would not run on a DMG) title, Mario Tennis. What I did notice however, and what they may have overlooked, was that the label on the front happened to say "Not for resale" ... in fact, there was another sticker which on the back said "store demo" or whatever...which, when removed, hid ANOTHER sticker which read "property of Nintendo"

Now I know that the Pokemon Gold "demo" ended up being 1:1 the same game which is why I am not getting my hopes up, but as I never played the original of this I have no way of knowing if it is in fact any different or not. I also have no way of dumping it 8D is there anything in particular I could look out for to see if this is even worth looking in to?

Maybe, but I would have to see screenshots of it in action (i.e. see if it runs on a monochrome Game Boy), just for context's sake.

I have a Kirby's Block Ball demo cart with the same labeling (mine has "TRU" and a store number written on a PROPERTY OF NINTENDO sticker on the back). They're usually (always?) just the retail game with a different front label, and probably not worth much.

Might as well bring this up. I have a NOT FOR RESALE Tetris Attack SNES cart with a white top label and from memory, I believe that there is an additional CPU cheat code which is not present in the retail copy of the game. I recall seeing this cheat after an ending several years ago, which I actually wrote down... that paper is long lost from so many moves ago (still need to dig my games out from the shed and dump this).

Here is the cheat screen ROM codes for the retail Tetris Attack copy.
