Nintendo apparently went bananas when deciding the official naming of the "Gamecube"! Unfortunately this complicated things slightly. :/

The GameCube is actually spelled GAME CUBE as suggested by my several GAME CUBE Kiosk demo cases. I have also seen Gamecube listed in several places. Similar situation the proper spelling of the Gameboy actually being called Game Boy. I understand why there is confusion... Nintendo's official naming is buggery; the Nintendo GC SDK states "NINTENDO GAMECUBE (GCN)" and "NINTENDO GAME CUBE (GCS)" and also the Wii SDK's changelog mentions "GameCube"

I extracted my wii's nand and found two test folders, test1 and test2. The test1 folder has a txt file about testing various aspects of the nand. test2 has a file called dvderror (can't remember filetype) and nanderror (which is exactly as it sounds). I'm currently looking for anything else that could be interesting.

Change it to "CSI 2 and 3 - Bink.gif". It turns out that this particular unused asset, and two others, are found in CSI Dark Motives (CSI 2) and CSI Miami (CSI 3). So I kinda have to make a Dark Motives page now, unless you don't want me to.

Uh... what do I do if I happen to find around 100 or more unused audio files in a game?

Well, upload 'em!

Dependng on what they're about, perhaps creating a page specifically for the unused audio files would do nicely, and then organizing them on that page would be my initial suggestion.

They appear to be very, very early sound files for The Punisher on Xbox. They may have come from an early demo (Frank says "When is this demo gonna end?" at least once.) There are -lots- of files that are never used... and they seem to reference a museum stage that doesn't exist!

I can play the files with a program called EkszBox-ABX, but extracting them doesn't work (I get mostly 1kb files) and the file names are all wrong.

A few of these were left in the PC version of the game, but the Xbox version is ridiculously filled with unused crap.

Edit: Okay. I figured out how to make proper wav files out of these... I just wish there were more xbox tool programmers out there. Christ this was a clusterduck...

Hrm, how to go about a mixture of a regional difference and a platform difference - namely music replacements in Digimon Battle Spirit for GBA, compared to its original WonderSwan version?

The US and European GBA version has one music track that plays whenever your Digimon evolves, while the Japanese WSC version plays one of three evolution themes from the first three seasons of the anime (IIRC depending on which Digimon you play as). They're still buried inside the GBA ROMs and can be extracted from it, but can't be heard in-game.

Would I just create a page for the GBA version with those three tracks, and say that they're used in the WSC original but not on the GBA? Should I also put up the US track for comparison?

For those of you who haven't been following the recent edits these past few days, Tanks and I have managed to find a ton of unused goodies in Wario Land: Shake It! This includes an entire alternate background for the Shake King battle.

My favorite discovery so far? Hard to say, but this is definitely one of them.

Omg, i just found something Definitely TCRF worthy. The videos from onumusha dawn of dreams are sofdec streams so you can get them working by simply renaming them to .sfv and playing them with something like vlc media player.
The video in folder 1 called 1f is simply a 2 second clip with the words:
-under construction-
[[EVENT MOVIE]]
Other mysteries with the videos is that there is no folders 4 and 5. There are also 2 videos called 67_eu and 68_eu, this gives the idea that the japanese versions of these videos might be different.

What I usually do is just type the name of the game in the search bar. If it's not there, there will be a message at the search bar that says "Create the page "[thing you searched for]" on this wiki!". Click the red link and start!

Thanks. I've already converted all the files. I just need to make sure a certain song is not used in the game - I'm pretty sure it isn't, but the last time I played through the game was back in 2007. I'm playing through it right now and so far, it hasn't shown up.

Edit:
And now that I've acquired the Xbox version of the game... that one has its own set of unused stuff! I even found some configuration files and what I think is source headers!

I added an unused button code to the Super Street Fighter II SNES article just now, and it seems like there are a lot of such unused bits of programming in other articles as well. Most of them seem to be filed under "unused code fragments", which I understood to be for uncompiled stuff rather than just unreachable/dead code. Should these be made into distinct categories?
