Those second two are indeed used. You unlock stuff by collecting the souvenirs/stuff you earn in levels. Completing one of them in the first world makes an animator's desk appear in the little empty room up the ladder, and interacting with it gives you that second movie with the home video footage. The last one is unlocked in a similar way.
