Don't have the time to figure out all the options, but Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time has what appears to be a fully-translated and working debug mode. You have to press select after enabling the code to get warped to the debug room.

Also, I haven't had the time to try code hacking for it, but Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology appears to have a debug map, overworld debug menu and a debug menu in the main menu itself which I came across when I was peeking into the game's files. From what I can see the main menu debug menu is supposed to have options such as editing the characteristics of your created character, but I didn't have the time to delve deeper.

Nothing really special or unused here. Virtually all games can be modified with codes to make your character move faster or slower, or glitch out in humorous ways.

As for the "add items" code, I'll look into it, but I doubt it's anything more than a glitch.

That's why I said it was mere speculation

A bit of an oddity for the Ocarina of Time page: apparently, in Ganon's Tower (that's it? haven't played in years), the colored beams are added each time you enter the room. So if you enter the room twice, they're added twice. This continues for as many times as you reenter, causing other objects to unload themselves.

Hehe, that's pretty neat. I'm actually about to reach Ganon's Castle in my mapping, so I'll get to verify that it works in v1.0.

Well, this is interesting. I opened up the Dance Dance Revolution PC executable in Notepad, and found system messages for a PS1 version (references to a memory card, etc.)... so I took a better look in a hex editor and I found two DDR song lists that mention songs that were never released on home versions.

And I think I found a list of song folders. The game stores record data in data\music\xxxx , where xxxx is a four letter folder name. I found a list of four letter names which seem to resemble songs from DDR 4th and earlier. (NINZ = Ninzaburo, DRLO = Dr. Love, etc.)

Using a walk-through-walls hack, I found two oddities in Final Fantasy III (Famicom). In the room where the first crystal is, if you speak to the animated spirite, you will have a thunder-effect and be pushed up one tile. You can't normally see this as the second you enter the hallway the sprites go through some scripting and you enter a battle. I don't recall if you ever see this behaviour with any other sprite or place in the game.

The other weird thing is in the Inn where you first talk to Cid, where everyone is invisible, behind the bar is a shelf. If you inspect it, you retrieve an item. I don't believe you ever have access to this normally in the game, similar to the Chrono Trigger items-behind-counters.

If you talk to Djinn directly, he simply shakes the screen rather than initiating a fight, too.

That's probably the Master Song List. I think it's in every post-3rd game. I know later ones have things like In The End by linkin park and Eyes on Me by Faye Wong on the list, even though we've never seen the stepcharts.

(actually, I think Eyes On Me was at the 4th mix Location Test, and just never came to be.)

I can confirm that the duplicating energy beams in Ganon's Castle do happen in all versions. However, I doubt it's really something worth putting in the article. Same for the other two oddities.

Now, with that in mind, I have to wonder if the Spirit Temple statue easter egg should be included. You know, the grapple points on her... chest, which send Link flying if he lands on them.

If we include the beams in Ganon's Castle, we'd also have to include Mario's duplicating hats in Mario 64, I think. Though the Spirit Temple statue I didn't know about.

I'm not sure about mentioning the bottle. On one hand, it's a hidden little item that was removed in the 3DS version, but at the same time, it's just a hidden little item like the red rupees on top of the Hyrule Castle Town drawbridge. It's not really significant or well-hidden or anything.


Also, I should mention that the Spirit Temple statue quirk was kept for the 3DS version. In fact, that's where most people probably discovered it, thanks to the new Hookshot reticle.

It's not an actual magic bottle. It is some kind of item that you can collect for some odd reason and that just looks like a magic bottle when you pick it up (note that it doesn't restore any magic). I think very much that this is worth mentioning.

I think it's as legitimate as including the extra door being loaded in Ganon's Tower, and the beneath-ground doors in Wind Waker :/

I ain't a hacker, just enough knowledge to poke around Sayaka and UoT.

Sayaka calls it a En_Wonder_Item, with an actor code of 0112, with a variable of 1093.

Spinout's Wiki lists it as an invisible collectible, with a variable associated with collecting the item by passing over it.

If I had a little bit more hacking prowess (or knew where to find the actors in a hex editor and what these pointers mean), I'd want to tell you.

I'm not sure if its any relation, but the actors that give you instructions on how to complete each task are called Wonder_Talk2.

There's also another En_Wonder_Item in the maze, with a different variable, 1AE7. It's in the 7th room of Sayaka (I think its the room with Lizalfos and fire.)

Room 8 has one as well, with a variable 3FC2.

Not so sure if this info is helpful to anyone, but its been a particularly bland day and this is something to do. =/; ^^;

In Room 7, it appears over the normal door, the one not in the archway. In Room 8, it appears as part of the chainlink maze, outside of a large door.

Weirder is that the same item appears in another stage with the same variable, as found in Room 5 (the Eye statue room). 0012:1093 gets used in a room in the room leading to the Deku Flower underground, in the Deku Tree.

It's not quite the same thing, with one being a design mistake and the other being a quirk with the engine. However, after giving it further thought, it seems like this is something that could be mentioned. It's actually quite dissimilar from the hat duplication glitch in SM64. This is something that happens every time the player re-enters the room, not because of a specific set of actions. I'll add it to the article, along with the mysterious magic bottle.


As far as I can remember, there are no hidden magic bottles in the game. (Just Rupees.)


Edit: Added the oddities. I haven't added the Spirit Temple easter egg yet as I'm still waiting to hear whether or not it fit in the article.
Edit2: Found another little oddity. The boss room for Ganondorf has a boss lock on the outside, like all temple boss room boss doors. However, the actual boss lock for Ganondorf's room is on the floor below. My hunch is that putting the lock on the door is how they prevent the player from opening it. Anyone want to test that theory?
