I've played.. bits of the first 3, and then some of 7 and 8, I think? And I dunno, I think it's the whole JRPG genre in general I have a hard time getting into (random battles, grinding, certain requirements needed before you can save, though that one's getting better).

5's very light on the grind, your equipment and class/ability choices are much more important than your level (level just affects HP, MP, and unarmed damage). That said, some of the bosses can be a bit tricky if you don't have that HP reserve to absorb the hits.

Given your list of complaints, I can't really think of any others you might like. Maybe Tactics, but that's not a main series game. Also, you're dealing with either a godawful translation (PS1) or a godawful port with a translation of debated quality (PSP; personally I like the translation though)

Spelunky for XBLA. Just a tremendous enhanced port. Already died about 100 times, and virtually all those deaths were due to me doing something that I shouldn't have done.

Spelunky is a game where the vast majority of deaths are fair. Generally it means you did something you shouldn't have done or you took a chance and it didn't quite pay off. So after you die, you want to play again because you want to show this game who's boss.

I just finished playing Xenoblade Chronicles the other day (absolutely phenomenal RPG by the way - I'd recommend it to anyone who is into the genre) and started replaying Ms. Pac-Man Maze Madness on the N64 today. Although I kind of wish the game had a few more levels, what -is- there is tons of fun and has all of that classic Pac-Man goodness with some quirky and difficult puzzles mixed in.

I got bored and decided to play Pokemon snap. Its an interesting game and a sequel would be good (as long as the newer 'Pokemon' weren't in it). I also found out you can get free Xbox games by recovering a gamer tag that owns those games. Too bad i don't know anybody i really want to know what is so special about minecraft. Damn ancient computer and its shitty graphics card.

Playing Banjo-Tooie. Started at about 4 this morning but had to stop at 8:30 because of bodily needs and the fact that the sun is now directly on my TV, which causes problems.

Haven't played it in years, so it's really fun to try and figure out this game all over again.

Might do Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong 64 if I have the time, since I did stop at at Jolly Roger's Lagoon just now, which is pretty major progress as far as game progression.

I've been playing Borderlands a lot. I've never finished it for some reason.

Also, online with Pandaren is awesome. If we can get a couple more players, it'll make for a good game!

EDIT: I broke Borderlands by alt-tabbing out. Some things are translucent, some textures have gone and some meshes are in wireframe.

I kinda like it.

I'm dunking most of my gaming hours into Skyrim or The Binding of Issac at the moment.

Skyrim has somehow captured my attention after a six month hiatus. Oops. And TBoI is...Zelda with poop jokes I guess.
