For those of us who have Kid Icarus: Uprising, what's your favorite weapon/type?


I have a lovely pair of Eyetrack Orbitars with +4 Poison. With a value of 267, I kick butt with them. In fact, I beat most of story mode with them. I've recently also picked up a pair of Stealth Claws in an attempt to diversify my arsenal.

Hm, let's see...

I managed to fuse a Viper Blade pretty early, then managed to get some Eyetrack Orbitars around the half-way point with 5 ranged and Heart Bonus +2. Used those for the rest of the game, then started completing the Treasure Hunt and got the Brawler Claws with Overall Defense +8 for getting all claws; with that, I fused an Aurum Palm with Overall Defense +8, Recover Effect +2 and 3.5 ranged stars. That was useful for a few 9.0 chapters, but I now use a Midnight Palm with Overall Defense +4, Evasion +3, Recovery Effect +2 and 6 ranged stars (298 value).

I'm more a fan of mid-ranged weapons, so stuff like Palms, Blades and Orbitars are my favorites. Pure melee is nice but not really useful in air battles, while pure ranged weapons aren't as useful when levels often include arena-type areas where you're enclosed near enemies.

I've been trying to fuse a weapon with Shot Defense and Standing Continuous Fire, plus possibly Evasion+ or Recovery+; so far I've managed to get a Laser Staff with ShotDef+4, Standing cont. fire +4 and Recovery +2, but I'd like more than 4 ranged stars.




Incidentally, if you're looking for better weapons, just play chapters in 9.0 with a Heart Bonus +3 weapon and the Heart Booster power; that way you can both collect some 300+ valued weapons AND eventually buy some more as fusion fodder. My favorite chapter for this is Chapter 3, I can usually get 50 000+ hearts per run.

I prefer Claws, Palms, or Bows as weapon types.

Currently I'm trying to buy a set of Pandora Claws, I had a pair a while ago, but eventually fused them for something better.

Note to self: Get back to playing this game, and maybe start playing on difficulty 6+. Currently it's just too hand-crampingly hard to play, and the movement is jerky, because of my left-handedness.

I've recently picked up two new weapons, which are now my favorite. An awesome Aurum Palm with six-star ranged and +2 Petrification, and my new favoritest favorite, Aurum Orbitars. Their continuous fire is deadly, to the point that I kill most players with it instead of charge shots. It only has +1 Confusion, but that's fine with me.


By the way, I made puzzles for Pushmo!

So I was thinking of finally updating my Mario Kart 7 game but I want to know if the stages patched will also be patch on the time trials and Grand Prix. If they are then I might as well leave it.

Also does anyone have any eshop recommendations?

I don't see the point in leaving the game un-patched. Any Time Trial records you set using the exploit shortcuts won't be legitimate, and exploiting it in the Grand Prix only robs yourself of practice on the parts of the course you skip. But of course, the big reason is that once the deadline hits, you won't be able to play online multiplayer without it.

Oh yeah I still need to update that message Also I went ahead and updated, I still need to 3 star the mirror courses in the Grand Prix but I'd rather have the online now then to wait.

Also, Nintendo Direct confirmed it: Fire Emblem is coming out in the US in 2013.


Also also, NSMB2 is going to have downloadable stages for Coin Rush mode. No, not on-cartridge levels that you unlock, but brand new levels. They won't start making them until the full game is finished. I know a lot of people are throwing around "bleh another identical Mario game", but it looks like it will have enough features to distinguish it from the rest of the main 2D platformer entries, and it really does look very fun.

Namco Bandai making the next Smash Bros? Well they shown they could make great Mario Kart games, I also can picture Pac-man making a debut here (not that I'm complaining). Apparently their working "to take advantage of the fact that there will be versions for two different systems, and to maximize and offer fun new gameplay elements". Sounds great.

Even though Namco-Bandai is developing it, Sakurai is still directing it. I imagine we'll at least get a reference or two, but probably nothing ridiculous like Pac-Man as a fighter.


This is going to be a really good year for the 3DS. So many great first party games coming out, with more still on the way. I better start working on my backlog now!

Yay 3DSXL? I don't plan on getting one, so doesn't affect me any. My 3DS is big enough, especially with the Circle Pad Pro attached to it.

DLC is cool too. Same with Professor Layton. I can't really be excited about Fire Emblem, but I haven't played any of the other games in the series.

There's also the 8-Bit Summer, with new VC games every week, starting with the Legend of Zelda!
