I don't know if any of you knew about this, but I didn't see it on the page, so I went ahead and put it there. It's quite interesting.
Anyway, does anyone have any way to get screenshots of it? That would be real nice, especially as the video I have up there is of Explorers of Sky (so that has a test dungeon, too).

One would usually use an emulator for this, unless all the emulators don't work when accessing the level (not even Ensata).

I went to go take screenshots of the Test Dungeon, but instead got sidetracked into checking out the Debug Menu. There's a lot to be discovered! Whoever documented last had a crashy game or something. I've documented some of it, but there's more to go.


Also, someone really needs to document the Red/Blue Debug room. I have a lot on my plate as it is already, but I'll do it if I absolutely have to. The reason for this is that it seems to exist in its entirety inside PMD2! Even has some of the NPC dialogue.

This sounds like a great opportunity to document these games right here. I think I'll fire up my Time game again, take a look at this Debug Menu as well. Should help you out a bit!

While I go through my screenshots and get them uploaded, here are some notes on the Debug Menu and using it:

-If pressing R+Down doesn't work right away, try holding it. Your arrow will move through the menu like normal, but will occasionally jump down past it to the debug option. Note that this works on almost any menu, but usually causes them to get stuck.

-You can access it with any title screen BG, despite what the code says. Or at least, I could. Note that I have Explorers of Darkness, and am using DeSmuME.

-Whoever documented it last had a really crashy game or something. Nothing directly crashes the game, though some options (like Ground Script Check) cause the system to become unstable. Even loading a save state causes the emulator to crash at times like this.

-Dungeon Debug Play may be looking for a specific save file type or something. I couldn't get it to work, because the last time I saved was after a chapter and not in the usual spot.

-Ground Debug Play is the same one as in Red/Blue. It should really be documented there first, and then the differences should be noted in PMD2. For example, the "Assembly" option from Kecleon brought up PMD2's Chimeco Assembly, though I hadn't gotten that far in the story, so it locked up on me.

-I didn't even attempt to use the Save editor option.

-For Debug Switch and Debug Log, you have to use Start to toggle the options. Pressing A just returns you to the Debug Menu.

-I've tried enabling "Debug" and "Edit Mode" and "Stage NPC Dummy", but I haven't seen any difference and can't seem to find any special functions by mashing buttons.

Well, thanks, that'll certainly help. But I do have another question: what code are you using, just to make sure that I haven't that wrong, either?
Also, good work getting screens.

I used the code on the wiki, which I also happened to find on a random code site.


Now, note that I don't have Explorers of Time, so I don't know if the version affects it. All I can confirm is that it works with Darkness.
