I was doing a random tile dive into Megaman 2: The Power Fighters and I spotted these while digging around for FX.![]() In the final, Capcom opted to have Forte just repeat the Crescent Kick, where these sprites seem to indicate he was going to kick the opponent twice and then perform the Crescent Kick for his Super Charge Attack. |

| Updated the first post with the unused MM3PC graphics and unused weaknesses from RMW2&3. Have fun! EDIT: http://themechanicalmaniacs.com/images/mmmysteries/MMPBmys-concept4.jpg Erm, can someone translate this? I really would like to know, why the Yellow Devil is fought in GyroMan's stage in this mock-up of MMPB... |

I don't think it really reveals anything, they just say it was a draft. (This was translated by GlitterBerri)

| In Mega Man 8, the text "NOW PRINTING" appears several times below Mega Man's sprites in the file "GETDEMO", which has the graphics from the get weapon screen. ____________________ ![]() |

I saw it while messing around the game files with TiledGGD. Didn't remember the address, but finding it won't be hard as the file is small compared to others. This image helps?![]() ____________________ ![]() |

Originally posted by metalman Hmm, that looks odd. I don't remember seeing any of these sprites in the game. I'm sure, that the whole sprite bank is unused (either that, of the Weapon Get graphics are organised like that, so I can't recognize anything). |

| Minor discovery here. In Mega Man 5, there's an unused leftover graphic from the previous games: Megaman's throwing sprite. I did a fair bit of testing, and none of the weapons seem to make it appear. I may be wrong, but nothing I could do would make those sprites show up within the normal course of the game, so they're likely unused. The only thing that would make it show up is a bit of tinkering with the RAM to change what action Mega Man is doing. Speaking of that, messing with a similar RAM address (the same one, I think) can trigger all sorts of wacky shit to happen. For instance, you can trigger the roof collapse segment from the ending at any time and on any stage, using that stage's ceiling. Obviously, this ends up looking pretty glitchy since most stages aren't designed to handle this. Also, you can use the jet ski (Marine Bike, I think it's called?) from Wave Man's stage during any part of the game. It's actually a major pain in the ass because you can't turn around and face left, meaning only being able to shoot at the right. No charge shots either. Messing with this same address triggers a quirky routine that makes Mega Man run over to a specific spot on the left side of the screen (it's roughly the same spot on the screen that Mega Man lands when he enters a boss room), look to the right, and then promptly resets the game. |

| Oh, before I forget; while poking around in the files for the Megaman Anniversary Edition, I stumbled upon LOADS and LOADS of graphics leftovers from Rockman Complete Works. As you might know, Megaman Anniversary Edition is essentially a stripped-down English version of Rockman Complete Works. Rockman Complete Works has a lot of things that Megaman Anniversary Edition doesn't; PocketStation connectivity for lots of little minigames, a database for every enemy (similar to how some RPGs have bestiaries), lots of unlockable artwork and pictures (including cutesy little 4koma comics), Time Attack, character profiles, and other stuff. Well, Megaman Anniversary Edition contains pretty much every graphical asset for the features that were left out. Menus graphics, comics, database pictures, PocketStation game stuff... Even what appear to be the little tiny icons used to show PS1 saves on the PS1's internal memory card manager (Complete Works was originally for the PS1, while Megaman Anniversary Edition was PS2). It's ALL there. I've ripped the graphics, but there are literally hundreds of pictures. That makes me wonder if more than just graphics remain for these functions? I also uncovered a song or two that I don't remember in the English version. |

Not sure how big the songs are either; clearing out all the junk I found might not have done it. Even though there's HEAPS of graphics, they're still very light when it comes to data size. |
