Can anyone point to a program that uses these file extensions? I'm looking in the ROM for a DOS game released around 1993, and I can't find any program that opens these files.

What game is it? There's a good chance those are custom formats created by the developer.

If you can upload some examples of FFS/CGN, I'll take a look and see if I can figure anything out.

It's a game called "Busytown", released by Simon and Schuster/Paramount Interactive in 1993.

EGA4 sounds like a video format (makes me think of CGA and VGA), which makes me think PALE is "palette".

With BMF's information, an EGA file extension is a bitmap file. A PAL file is just a Microsoft Color Palette extension.
