Thanks guys! Now I'm freaking out over how much financial aid they'll give me I hope it's enough for me to attend comfortably and not leave me with too much debt. ._. It all depends on how they determine my EFC (estimated family contribution). My parents are almost in their 60s, retired, getting only about 20k (total per year) of social security income, and their only significant asset is owning their house, which is valued at maybe $70k or so. I really hope they're not unfair enough to expect my parents to take a new mortgage or something. (and thus give me less financial aid because of that)

Oh well, hopefully I'll find out soon enough!

Thanks! If you didn't notice, they're based on Mario's palette. And yeah, the GBM is classy as all hell but especially mine because I got a matching faceplate. They usually ship them with the opposite color to the body (like, if you purchase a silver one, it comes with a black faceplate), but I purchased a faceplate replacement set from Nintendo after so I could make it match. So I'm like one of the few owners of a sleek and sexy all-black GBM. Pretty cool.

And the problem was that the DS completely overshadowed the thing which is why it really didn't fly off the shelves.

Then again, Nintendo wasn't exactly thinking that the DS would get so big so fast, but there ya go.

I think the bigger reasons nobody but Sofi and me bought a Micro were because A) it was hard to see what's going on in that tiny (though brilliant) screen, and B) the external connector is incompatible with legacy GBA accessories (and you couldn't link and charge at the same time). Got two Micros? Great! Buy a Micro-Micro cable (or that wireless dealie). Friend doesn't have a Micro? No worries! Buy a Micro-Legacy cable.

Yeah, I never bought a Micro for social gameplay. When I got mine—and I got mine used—everyone already moved onto the DS.

Despite its drawbacks, though, there's still quite a lot to be liked about the Micro. Like it has this wonderful sleek retro design that just looks and feels right in your hands. Oh and they actually fit in women's jeans pockets which is pretty groovy (and rare).

The screen takes some getting used to but otherwise it's actually great. I think the default brightness of the system is more of an issue than the size. Anything brighter than the lowest setting is kind of too bright.

It's probably the handheld console that's seen the most use from me. But the four-shade-grayscale retro-while-still-being-purse-friendly Game Boy Pocket is starting to catch up.

Hahahahaha what? Well, different games for different James, I suppose.

I didn't get a Micro because I already had a regular GBA and it worked well enough for my purposes. I felt like the SP and the Micro were Apple-esque attempts to cash in on style rather than on features. I admit they're very stylish, and no one buys game systems for strictly-speaking practical purposes, and it's pretty rad just how small the Micro is. I mean, from a technical perspective. It'd be pretty hard for me to focus properly on the small screen.

When Sofi said that it fit in women's jeans pockets I suddenly understood why anyone would want a handheld that small. I'd never realized that women's pockets were that much smaller than men's.

Sorry, but Fire Emblem on a scale from "1" to "Fuck You" is pretty much in the "Fuck You" category of being fun if you don't know all of the esoteric bullshit that goes on behind the scenes and/or plan out your moves 27 stages in advance. (Also it's really easy to get totally fucked over and have to restart from the beginning, always a joy).
