![]() Click to enlarge. Chickpea miso soup, tamagoyaki, brown rice, sautéed greens. Whole Foods is probably my favorite supermarket right now. I mean, they are totally chock full of options for people with alternative needs like me. Like, people who want to enjoy a comforting bowl of miso soup in the morning but are allergic to soy. Seriously, chickpea miso is really really cool. It tastes fairly similar to soybean miso but is soy-allergy friendly. I think all sushi restaurants should carry chickpea miso for people like me. Man, is there anything chickpea can't do? It's full of protein, it makes hummus, it makes tofu in Myanmar. It's just so cool. I made a sweet Japanese rolled egg, but I didn't really try that hard. It came out pretty sweet as expected but not in the whole boxy form it's supposed to be. Oh well. ____________________ About the author: A prolific contributor to Jul with some 2499 posts published, Sofi better fancies herself as a cinema geek, a composer, a vintage gamer, a budding fashionita, an absolute cooking newbie and a general life enthusiast-satirist. Now that I think of it, I haven't had tamagoyaki before, but I usually don't eat Japanese food (although I do like it, in general).

Oh well, it's not like I don't like what I eat.
