There's something I've been meaning to mention...

So, there's an object called Ob. It's this lady.

The map group for Beedle's Shopships is called 'Obshop.'

Could it be a coincidence? 'Ob' for Rose stands for 'Obasan' in Japanese. Could the 'Ob' in Obshop stand for something else?

There's also the matter of Rose's model being in the cut scene archive for the appearence of the Tower of the Gods. What's weird is that her normal model consists of a head and body, while the Tower of the Gods' model is one model for everything. It should be noted that there IS a Shopship in the TotG sector. Her animation there is a wave goodbye... based on the comedy of the game, I would say that if it was intended to be there, it would have been for her to be waving as Link entered the dungeon.

But, like the beta Fado model, it could just be an accident that it was included.

Think about, though; Twilight Princess had a fat woman that was a shopkeeper. Is it possible that the idea was recycled from something scrapped in the Wind Waker?

Oh, and Obshop has a few model-less arcs. They only have collision, and they're for a pirate ship or submarine. This could hint at scrapped shopship interiors.

Very interesting and very strange too! It is in the same kind as the old version of Fado. I made a picture to TCRF, you have to do is write the text.

Otherwise, it is very possible assumptions, but I think we'll know more on it. Only Nintendo knows!

Indeed, there are two models of collision. I think I'll make an image for TCRF, it remains an unused area in the final version.

I wonder if the following two objects are connected:

A baton stone and a stone with wind textures...

Oh ho ho... here's something...

So, I was checking out DmSpot0 to figure out if I could add a skybox, when I came to a problem- Rarcdump refused to dump Stage. That forced me to get out the ol' hex editor. But then I saw something intriguing...

The stage contained an STB file. It was called 'kaizoku_zelda_fly' (translation on the 'kaizoku,' Glitterberri?). Now, this file DOES exist in the final game- it's in Demo2, the cutscene in which Tetra falls into the Forest of Fairies. What's weird is that it shares the STB folder with something called 'awake.stb,' which is probably the cutscenes at the very beginning of the game.

The older version of kaizoku is larger.

What this could mean is that they intended to have cut scenes handled differently, more like Event_List.dat. Just thought that was interesting. I'm going to try replacing the newer version with the older and see if anything's different.

Oh. I see. That makes sense!

And I just tried the file. It just dumps Link on the Lookout Tower, and nothing else. I wonder why. Maybe this file isn't set up right? I don't know.

As for the old map, I think that it's way older than any screenshots. As in, it probably dates from around the time of Spaceworld 2001, or possibly older.

This is all speculation though. With VrTest having some textures from the old Alpha forest shown in the 2001 video, and it's map system using the tex folder like the DmSpot0 map is...

In the old screenshots, I can't see Link's house at all in the oldest ones. The dock seems to be moved to it's final position already though, based on how it looks in relation to the beach.

The textures are definitely different. The grass seems to be the same as the VrTest grass. Same with the beach.

The story between the stone and the stone wind is quite interesting, it may be possible!

For files "stb", it does not exist much...

In KATA_HB, there is also the file "kaizoku_zelda_fly.stb".

In E3ROOP, there is a file "meet_tetra.stb".

In M2ganon is the file "find_sister.stb". Ganon's room. Moreover, it is the only file "stb" in a room used in the game

In A_nami and VrTest is the file "counter.stb". It seems to be related to a demo scene. In these places there is a folder "msg" with files rather strange.

"testmsg.bin", "zl00019.bin", "zl00020.bin", "zl00021.bin", "zl00022.bin", "zl00023.bin", "zl00024.bin"

VrTest is a room that should be searched as much as possible with the template file "Title.arc" which has a model VrTest, VrBox (older version of the clouds) and a "bti" logo Japanese of The Wind Waker .

I believe it was a place to test the title screen of the game. Certainly older than the E3 2002.

The files "framework.map" of The Wind Waker. With these files, you can make things very interesting. I've used it to find a way to force open the Debug Menu. If you find some interesting lines, let me know and I will see what I can do.

I'll take a look, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to find anything.

Also, Event_List.dat in ENDumi's Stage has an entry called 'ending.' I'm trying to see if I can get it to play, but it might actually be the real ending- not the .thp, but the event they used to record the .thp.

I disassembled the .dol with IDA and as it turns out, there's quite a bit of raw source code near the end of the file.

Also it says it was made with Metrowerks CodeWarrior. Now, the GCN SDK from 2001 (the one on Assemblergames) actually comes with CodeWarrior.

I'd post a sample but there's so much that you should really look for yourself.

Do your best, it's worth a try!

Otherwise, the "event_list.dat" the room "VrTest" contains the first "COUNTER_DEMO" and end "counter.stb".

For the DOL file, this is the case for most games.

Also, I am announcing that GlitterBerri is currently translating the list of Debug menu Twilight Princess E3 2006 Demo, but there are no chances that I can open it, because of nonexistent row. There are lots of rooms that tests should have been in the game, but alas... Nintendo and its desire to punish hackers...

Looked at the .dol in a hex editor, and I stumbled across this string...

No response.N64 controller..N64 microphone..N64 keyboard....N64 mouse...GameBoy Advance.Standard controller.Wireless receiver...WaveBird controller.Keyboard....Steering

Why are there strings for (nonexistent) N64 peripherals?

I'm pretty sure all those N64 accessories exist... The microphone was for Hey you, Pikachu! at least, the keyboard and mouse were for the 64DD.

According GlitterBerri, "siroroom" means "Castle Room". In my opinion, this is the fortress with Moblins present in the trailer for the Spaceworld 2001. By cons, what it is doing in the forest?

The file "BMD" A_R00 of being very different, you can easily read with the software reading the file "txt". Save the file below and watch it. This is well aligned!

A_R00 format TXT file

The file "BMD" is just another file collision and thus, no textures available. We will only have the collision and the settings for the oldest room in the game.

And yet another discovery... I took a quick glance at Framework.MAP, and I found that in the item_func and item_getcheck_func sections, the fabled Water Boots have entries! However, their entry for item_func is 4 bytes long (compared to the Iron Boots' entry, which is 44 bytes long) and its item_getcheck_func entry is 8 bytes long. So, they're probably nothing more than remnants. I'll take a look and see what IS there, though.

Also, I saw something called 'drgn_shield.' Both the Mirror Shield and the regular shield are accounted for... could 'drgn_shield' be a scrapped item? It has 44 bytes in its item_func entry, so maybe it is. It could also just be the Magic Armor.

Ooh! Something else! Item_getcheck_func lists two other sails besides 'normal sail'- 'zora_sail' and 'tincle_sail.' These don't have entries in item_func, so it's possible that they were removed earlier than the water boots.

Also, how does Framework.MAP work? Are the offsets for objects in the .dol?

One more thing... I've seen references to 'magic bean' and 'magic seed.' Possible scrapped items? The bokobaba seeds have a defined entry, so that can't be them.

Ah yes, the Water Boots! I had seen it long ago it (before the Debug menu), I have since forgotten. I also think that there is not much left of that item, but asks to see it.

"drgn_shield" I do not know what it might be ... The word "drgn" reminds me "Dragon" ...

Two sails? Very interesting that ... One Zora and the other Tingle. Try to find out more on it.

The file "framework.map" is a kind of note for developers of the game. Edit the file shoed no effect.

"magic bean" and "magic seed", I do not know. I think it's Bokobaba seeds, but not sure.

So, I tried reversing the recording, no dice. Then I ran it by a Japanese friend, he said it doesn't sound like Japanese but Korean. Then I asked some Korean friends, this was the result:

Person A:
Doesn't sound like Korean to me. Except for only one part saying "shirehagetsumida", which means "Excuse me".

Person B:
Kim sounds like french... whos speaking in it? im pretty sure it's not korean lol

Me:
It's definitely not French! Or Japanese. Are you sure she's saying "shirehagetsumida", or does it just sound similar?

Person A:
It sounds similar enough to deliver the meaning, I think.

Person B:
i... dont agree with him actually.. it sounds so weird... it's like a japanese girl is trying to read some other languages with weird accents....

As a note, the strings pertaining to the N64 things are actually in multiple games, including Wario World. And yes, all of those peripherals really do exist, even the keyboard.

I think the same thing for that voice, it's just a voice without particular language. Perhaps the ancient language of Hyrule simply!

About Water Boots, look carefully place the water in the Debug Room "Amos_T" or "I_TestM". Look carefully at the bottom of the water, it seems that it was possible to walk. I would not be surprised that this part was used for the famous Water Boots.

Otherwise, I forgot to say that for quite some time, I try to see if it is possible to execute the Debug Mode. It should look like those of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. If I managed to start the Debug Menu, I caution that this method is not so clean as that. I'd like to run it the way developers and take advantage of all tools. One thing is sure, the way to find the location of the exceution the Debug Mode is in the file "framework.map". If I fail, JayTheHam and his extensive knowledge in the hack would be welcome.

Then I would remember that I had found in the Debug Console, texts speaking of the buttons on the controller. It would certainly go with the Debug Mode.

Press X+Y+START to CLEAR console.
3DStick UP/Down to scroll.
Press A to output terminal from console.
SCROLL.F%3d %3d %3d Output=%1x.
Press L+R trigger to control console.
Press [Z] trigger to close this window.

Debug Console

Xdaniel, I did not realize you had started making an editor for The Wind Waker! It is a veritable little wonder!

The alt attribute should be used to give a short description
of an image; longer descriptions should be given with the
longdesc attribute which takes a URL linked to the description.
These measures are needed for people using non-graphical browsers.

For further advice on how to make your pages accessible
see http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL.
You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and
properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
