I was able to get one from my room. It's too bad I was too lazy to go outside to get the picture...

Ah well. Maybe once I learn to drive, I'll be a bit more outgoing.

Beautiful.

I've seen a sun set before...while on a cruise ship during my wedding.

I've been meaning to see a sunrise...but getting up that early...and if I'm getting up that early...its for work.

The other day I was outside and I looked and saw the sun seemed to be setting in a strange place. Usually it sets more to the right of where it was that day

Sometimes I see a beautiful scene in the sky (usually involves rainclouds) and I wish I had a camera. Maybe even just a small one, to take everywhere with me.

Actually, I like the sound of that.

*see my first post in this thread

"I've seen a sun set before...while on a cruise ship during my wedding."

Actually, it wasn't during my wedding, I think this picture was taken that evening.

... Yeah, so

I think I'll probably drive out some time when I get my license and confidence. We have this HUUUUEEEG hill/minute mountain where I could probably get on and get both a sunrise and sunset.

I don't have too much of a problem with waking up early if it's voluntary.

That picture was taken through a window (we were waiting to head to dinner) so I'm glad that I didn't get a lot of glare from the glass.

I saw plenty of sunrises when I was hiking in New Mexico. The best one was when we all woke up and hiked to the top of a mountain to see the sunrise over the land below us. (We were at 9000ft and the land below was at 6000ft. )

Holy christ.

How long was the total hiking time?

The one picture I can find (without digging too much .. I need to do some picture sorting. heh) is one that isn't quite a sunset. It's late afternoon when the sun's heading toward... 'getting ready' to set.

Sunrises are cool sometimes, but I definitely prefer sunsets.

That's a sunrise...? It seems more like dawn, or right between dawn and sunrise to me. *shrug* But the fog makes it cool. That's for sure.

That sunset is also amazing. Almost seems like a surreal painting...

Yeah, it was crazy. The fog was so thick you could barely see your hand in front of your face, at first. Then the sun burned some of it off, and we got some really nice shots. :3 It had actually risen quite a bit (the sun, that is), but there's a giant wooded area over on the other side of the river. *shrug*

Not bad for an iphone camera, methinks. I wish I could get the card in my digital camera to stop bugging out; I have no idea what all's on that thing, so I don't want to reformat it. ._.

.. Back to the topic~..

I didn't take this one, but I really like it. :3 I'm honestly not sure if it's a sunrise or a sunset, but either way, it's neat.

Edit: Oops, sorry, The first 'not-quite-sunset' picture was taken with my digital, not the iphone. :x

Oh, we had been hiking for 11 days. I went down there with a crew from my Boy Scout troop. We hiked in the mountains there and it was amazing.

That day was the last one though so we descended 3000 feet back to base camp. Took 4-5 hours.

I'm still rather fond of this one I took over the summer.

Ah yes. Sunsets are rather beautiful, aren't they? I don't have a camera, though. Otherwise I'd try to take my own picture.

That reminds me.

Arts of the romanticists, as we learned in World History, can reflect sunsets. Wide landscapes, emphasis on nature, expansive sky, and minuscule people.

I love that type of art, and it definitely relates to how I think of sunsets.
