I can't confirm that this is unused because it's so deformed, but I think I've found an unused level graphic. I was substituting values for the Debug Room code and found this in the Sapphire Passage:


(33000003 0007)


It doesn't seem to lead anywhere tho.

I don't think so. All of the level paintings share the same scratchy silhouette. Those fragments you see are just weirdly-offset pieces of other paintings. The dot and diagonal line you see in the corner is just part of the Mini-Game Shop sign.


So really, this is probably nothing.

Then why is it so nicely put together? I know generally how sprites work and random assortments of sprites wouldn't produce something like that unless the painting borders are read as a whole piece by default...I found another painting like that but this time with an image with 33000003 0009, but should I just not say anything? Or should I post it because who knows?

Graphics are usually stored in some sort of organized fashion so that the developers can figure out what they're looking at when looking at the stored graphics. All of the possible painting graphics are most likely stored in a nice grid. What you're seeing is the result of the tiles loading from a spot two tiles too far to the left and one tile too low. If there really was an unused painting somewhere, it would actually look like a painting and not a mess.

Now that you can see the colors of the paintings, it's easier to make out just what you're looking at. What you're seeing is the right side of Fiery Cavern, the left side of Hotel Horror, and the top of what could be anything. I'm afraid what you're seeing is just the result of a glitch.
