8 gb is totally oversized for Win98.

I used to install Windows 95 on a 2 GB hard drive. It fit a few programs, one game, and nothing else really.

Also, I suppose with nLite you could squeeze XP on a 2 GB hard drive... but it wouldn't be of much use.

Back then I had about 3gb of music and a few games installed on it so I only had like 3gb free. My brother and his friend (who was the son of the owners) and I played games there on the classroom PCs. Mainly Diablo 2, Quake 3, and I played Jedi Knight.

8GB isn't a bad size, though - you can at least fit 98 and a decent amount of other things on it.

Hell, I can breathe fine these days in 60GB. I do store a lot of my files on a 500GB external, but my 60GB internal partition works just fine. (It's an 80GB drive, the rest is just partitions and such related to Arch Linux.)

My 2TB is full enough that Windows 7 shows a red usage bar instead of the usual blue.

It still has enough free space to hold the entirety of my 120GB, but still, I should clean that up...

Or buy another.

Usage bars are one thing I miss about 7.

I think my 60GB partition was usually red, though...
