You could just switch to the grid-based format, which (for most instances) killed the video in the background.

Now, you get to go through videos a whopping 10 at a time! I have to echo someone's resentment at the lack of pagination (or better, more fucking content per load button).

I was able to deal with the changes for the most part, but FUCK THE NEW CHANNEL DESIGN. at least this time it doesn't seem like we're being forced in to it

I honestly like the new channel design. It seems to work better, and when you go to a video or playlist , it actually goes to a video page rather than forcing you to watch the video in the tiny player that can't expand. Also, way way less bullshit. Would be nice if customization came back, and that it wasn't rreally made so much towards marketing. Also a lot of information was missing last time I saw it but maybe it'll come back. (Or has? Haven't checked channels in a few days.) Overall, I think the new channel page is lighter, and the new design overall actually brings back the ideas of sections of information having borders around them, as opposed to google's previous (and relatively ongoing) philosophy that their web interface should be just a bunch of controls and crap scattered about with no clear grouping or organization or comfortable separation between items other than big blank expanses.

The change doesn't effect me very much. I hardly ever use Youtube, and when I do, it's usually because someone gave me a link to a video. All that matters to me is the ability to play videos and leave comments.

The design is pretty slick but I don't like how the home page just lists a ton of videos from your subscriptions without grouping them all. Can make it tough to keep track of new videos.

You know, I barely notice the changes. Save the new homepage, but it doesn't bother me so much as "oh wait, this is different."

Then again, I guess the fact that I only fairly recently started using the site (late 2009) kind of means I missed a lot of what it was like earlier on, or something... (I barely remember the "description to right and star ratings" days, for example.)

I can't deny that I'm never really a huge fan of change, whether it be for better or for worse. In this case I don't really hate the changes that were made although there are a few things that I definitely feel were downgrades rather than improvements.

The main thing that I don't like is the new way that my subscriptions are laid out on the main page. Instead of being displayed nicely like they were before, they're now just crammed together in one long mess and then sandwiched in by useless information on both sides.

I still don't like the main page. I'd much rather have activity be grouped by... user and activity. Before you got plenty of videos nicely grouped. Now it's all chronological and a huge mess.


The video page... my only problem with it is that you have to go to the link in the video description to open the user's channel in a new tab because lol buttons, but otherwise it's virtually the same. Actually it's better because of the categorization at the right as opposed to no categorization besides FEATURED VIDEOS

I haven't seen a new channel yet.

On the channel pages, I keep thinking the "Post a channel comment" box is the "Search Channel" box. I'm glad pressing enter doesn't post comments, otherwise I would be quite embarrassed... several times...

But overall the redesign is pretty nice yep.

Definitely don't like the main page changes. If someone is mass uploading a ton of videos, Good luck seeing your other subscriptions!

Also, the new channel design breaks Privacy settings, so users that you have blocked can keep tormenting you.
