This is the favorite time of the year for me, you don't even know.
Well, the first several week sare just whatever, but once the Christmas tree goes up I'm ecstatic and I just have so much fun and joy in my heart that it makes living through another year completely worth it.
Hell, even if all I got for Christmas is food, that would be awesome with me. Best part? I can share said food with everyone, to spread the cheer.
And the tradtions. Dear lord, the traditions. My dad's family is Polish, so they celebrate sort of a modernized wigilia, we always get wafer cookies and go around giving each other pieces of ours to each other and say "Merry Christmas" (or, with several jokesters in my family, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, etc.). And then there's always someone who is honored to dress in a Santa suit and give out presents to the entire family in a gift exchange. A few years ago it was my brother-in-law who got the honor. I hope he can do it again one of these years, since he has the perfect rosy cheeks to do it. It's a loud and crazy night, but it's one of the best nights of the year.
On Christmas morning, the family opens up presents as usual. My sister makes it a point to drop by, and I hope Wally and Kyle come by too, since it makes it more of a complete setting.
Mom's family is way more subdued (due to there being about 12-15 people versus 50-60). Hand out Christmas presents, eat dinner, just have a nice quiet day with family, and we go home.
tl;dr Christmas week is the best week, and there's almost nothing to ruin said week.
