So, outta curiousity, do you end up buying either lotto tickets (such as Powerball, etc.) or scratch tickets at all? If so, how often do you get them?

Reason I ask, I caved in at work today and bought a $3 scratch ticket (which I almost never do). I didn't win anything, but the way the game was played took longer than usual to see if I won. I like scratch tickets like that and they're fun to me, regardless of if I win or not. I enjoy the anticipation.

I've never bought scratch tickets myself, but if someone gives me them as a gift I'll use them...

Anticipation can be fun, even for those silly Stop and Shop scratch tickets where you end up winning like paper towels or something.

I never actually bought the tickets myself or got the money, but I loved scratching them off.

Has anyone ever seent he fake ones? I was with a friend when he bought some once. I'd probably not react well to getting one.

I've seen the fake ones at Spencers years ago but I haven't seen them sold anywhere since. Then again, I've not really looked for them, so...

One day too, when I was a kid, I got lucky and found a winning scratch ticket on the ground. Turned out it was a $5 winner too! Was worth more back then, I say, but it was a cool find. Most I ever won on a scratch ticket was $10 on a $1. I used the money to buy a Powerman 5000 CD.

They should at least just cash them in and try again. I see a lot of people come back to the service desk four or five times just to do that.

It makes me wonder: in Maine, do the scratchoff tickets have a "free ticket" winner?

I would get those so absurdly often it almost creeped me out.

I very very rarely get scratch tickets or anything related to the lottery.

I do it once in a blue moon because I have my ID, and it's one of the few things I can DO with an ID.

Here, we actually have machines that you can feed money into and buy them from there - so you don't really have to be 18 to buy them.

Of course, you do to cash them in...

I haven't indulged in any kind of lotto tickets, even though I could for the past few years. Whenever I almost win a game of chance, I just have to try again and again until either I do win or don't have anything left. Granted I learned this playing Stacker, but still, I want to be careful as fuck with that.

As for me, I used to scratch off my parents' tickets as a kid, and when I got older I'd get them as gifts. The most I ever won on a single ticket was $20.

I occasionally buy Powerball/Mega Millions when the jackpot is high, but that's about it.
