I think the April prototype (the one discussed in the link you posted) would probably have more in the way of unused content than any of the versions drx released. Considering that some of the music and sound effects which are actually used in that prototype didn't make it to the final, there may very well be unused graphics and whatnot that only exist in that version. I don't know if anyone's ever looked that deep.
That said, the versions drx released might be interesting as well. The earliest version--May 26, 1995--still has the text "JEAN CLAUDE CRAYON DANS LE ZONE COMIQUE" and "JOE PENCIL IN THE COMIX ZONE" in the rom's header, which are holdovers from the April proto. The next version, May 30, still has "JOE PENCIL", but lacks "JEAN CLAUDE". By June 1, the header contains the title "COMIX ZONE" and the message "DON'T LOOK AT THIS!", which remain in the final. This version is also the first to feature the finished title screen, with the "All Rights Reserved" message. Pretty insignificant stuff, but there might be more exciting things going on behind the scenes, so to speak.
I'm pretty clueless when it comes to looking through roms and finding unused content, but I'm definitely interested to see what you may find, if you have a look. |
