| The first Darkstalkers game has graphics for Pyron to show up in the group shot in the game's intro. This, combined with other facts (Pyron and Huiztil both have semi-functional endings and alternate palettes, Huitzil has an unfinished EX move (the one I posted about earlier, which it turns out can actually be performed in-game with QCF+PPP)) heavily implies that the 2 boss characters were intended to be playable at some point. |

| Actually they were intended to be playable, they even have ending sequences. If you switch to them at the last vs screen while fighting Pyron using cheats or memory hacking and beat the game, you get their endings that were later used in Night Warriors. However in the US version at the very least, all of the text is dummied out. |

| Not exactly a new discovery, but more of a comment: I posted recently about how there's lots of evidence that Pyron and Huitzil were intended to be playable at some point during the development of the first Darkstalkers game. I found that there are unused graphics for Pyron to be in the group shot in the game's intro sequence. However, if you look Huitzil actually is in that group shot in the finished game. Why remove Pyron but not Huitzil? I think the answer lies in the fact that while all the other characters are individual sprites, Huitzil and Victor are actually drawn into the background. So removing Huitzil would have required redrawing part of that background. Anyway, I'm organizing/getting better rips of the stuff I've found so far in all the Darkstalkers games in hopes of getting pages on the Wiki set up. |

| While screwing around in the Tyrian 2.1 executable (file0001.exe) I found this text "Sleep well, Trent, you deserve the rest.You now have permission to borrow my ship on your next mission. Also, you might want to try out the YESXMAS parameter. Type: File0001 YESXMAS You'll need the 2.1 patch, though!" (that last part doesnt appear in tyrian 2000's executable) Does anyone know if this is used? I have a feeling it could be used in Super Tyrian mode but I never got real far in that. |

Worth mentioning that the quote changes every time the menu is opened. That's just the best one. ![]() Once Gibbed releases a proper packaging tool, I'll try and check out the menu actionscript and grab all the quotes (though some of them are in French) |
