We definitely need some kind of policy on how company names are written.

For example, I've seen "Technos", "Technos Japan", "Technos Japan Corp.", and a similar amount of variants for other companies too, to the point where I no longer know what we consider correct.

I think, in this case, "Technos Japan" works, since it's specific enough to fully identify the company (cf. "American Technos") while leaving out the less important part (the "Corp.", or any other legal abbreviation in general.)

I guess consulting Mobygames or similar would be good to get the "proper" name of a company, but as I said, leaving off the abbreviation at the end might make be a little better.

That works for me. Just leave off whatever part normally gets abbreviated (or for odd cases like KONAMI INDUSTRY [whatever], just go by the popular name).
