Formerly Ran Yakumo, formerly Ninetales, formerly Vulpix, formerly Kamek77, now (again) just Kamek.

I joined Acmlm's back on the first incarnation as Kamek77, a mashup of Kamek (who I've always liked, partly because I beat him in 0'08" in TA a long time ago and never forgot that

) and my favorite number, 7, twice. It never really stuck (though it's still one of my e-mail addys), and eventually Danielle (who always just called me Kamek) persuaded me to drop the 77. After that I was known by Kamek for awhile.

However, I've had a tendency to switch usernames whenever I find a new obsession, and when I got addicted to Pokémon Mystery Dungeon I switched to Vulpix (and then later Ninetales), and then when EP and cpubasic got me addicted to Touhou I switched to Ran Yakumo.

Despite answering to pretty much any of these names, I don't feel particularly attached to any single one of them, and maybe that's why I don't think twice about changing nicks...is that unusual?

First name I ever used online was my real name.

No explanation necessary.
BoWzR was a corruption of Bowser which I used once in a Java chat applet. IIRC the second name I ever used online.
Pika98765 was lolpokémon + lolrandomnumber.
micros0ft_hater255 was one I used for an email address. I needed an email address and was pissed off at Microsoft.

o became 0 because I didn't want to get in trouble or something stupid like that, and 255 is just 255.
Mew2 was lolpokémon. This lasted about a week.
HyperHacker was because I wanted a new name because Mew2 sucked and I was really into hacking Gameshark codes and doing like 50 a day.

I've been known to pick random animé characters' names (or just their last names, or occasionally real Japanese people) and use them on forums I don't really care about or IRC. Common ones include Kinomoto, Kunisaki, Takahashi, Higurashi, Yamaguchi, and Hamasaki. (Cookies to those who can tell me what person/character each one is from. Bonus points if you can tell me both people Takahashi may refer to. Hint: AFAIK only one of them is at all famous.) You may notice I prefer those with 4 syllables, particularly if they end in an 'i' sound.

I use hyp3rhax0r on AIM and rekcaHrepyH on Xbox Live and some other places I can't remember because HyperHacker was taken. >:[

I've probably forgotten a few, and there's no way I'm listing all the names I've used in fads. That'd take ages.

Thexare: Aether was an alternate account name of mine. Then came the Kingdom Hearts name change fad. While I've never played the games, I figured it'd be an interesting challenge. Later, Aether Blademoon became another RP and City of Heroes character, an ice magician.

Blademoon: I like swords and I'm rather nocturnal. Rather simple.

Stigandr: From Behind the Name:

Usage: Ancient Scandinavian
