I don't quite know what's wrong with me, but for the past *year*, I've felt like I'm tired all the time.

I can get eight hours of sleep, no dice. I get less, still the same way. It takes me at least an hour+ to fall asleep, and I can't exactly dream anymore (or I do, but can't recall them.)

Sigh.

You're not alone. I can sleep 4, 6, 8, even 14 hours and still be tired the whole day, and actually getting to sleep takes an hour if I'm lucky. (Worse, I can easily sleep 14+ hours a day. )

I wish someone would just invent a machine or something that eliminates the need for sleep entirely.

I think I have it narrowed down between diabetes (can't be, if it's low, I still feel tired), CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which could easily be used to explain how I feel), or depression (which I'm on medication for, stupid fear of dying .)

I'm just like HH. It really sucks to be tired all the time. No matter where I am, I'd be able to fall asleep probably. My morning class (Math) is a constant struggle.

Not saying I have zero energy and am a zombie, but I'm generally pretty tired.

It's not necessarily bad for me on some days. Most of the time I'll wake up and just lie in bed for another hour or two; no motivation to get *out* of bed.

It'd be pretty cool to not be required to sleep. Just think about all of the extra time we'd have. Only problem is when would your body have the chance to regenerate itself?

And yeah, you're definately not alone... I tend to feel tired a lot too. It might be our diets, or some side effect of caffeine addiction, or maybe we're just not active?

Anyway, if someone can solve this mystery, it'd be really awesome.

I really prefer cooking whenever I can as opposed to eating fast food. I'm usually stuck eating McD's or Taco Bell most days at work, but I'll usually make the extra walk (~3min) to Subway to get a delicious (and considerably more filling) meatball sub. :3

Lately, I just haven't had the energy to cook anything. Bleh.

Drag's Post #371
As a college student, living in a dorm, where dorms don't have kitchens, I can't cook, so I'm stuck eating campus food. I mean, there's still the taco bell, burger king, chick-fil-a, and even though they're fast food, they're of lesser quality than fast food outside of campus. The only alternative is the campus-born food, which is ok, but still, nothing amazing. Then there's the cafeteria, but you know how cafeterias are... the food's bland, uninteresting, and makes you have to go to the bathroom.

I'd kill to have a kitchen I could use to cook my own food.

Unless you actually want to sleep?

Yeah, I slept through grade 9 science pretty much every day.

In the same boat, it sucks because my chem teacher is actually rather interesting, and every once in a while he does something nutty(Like throwing a piece of sodium into a beaker full of water, then slamming the fume hood down over it so we can watch it explode), but I'm usually too dead to pay much attention, since it's period 1.

Two probable causes:

Sleep apnea
If you're not breathing right in your sleep, you'll feel tired no matter what.

Circadian rhythm - Very Likely -
Give yourself a schedule. Go to sleep at the same time every day; get up at the same time every day. Staying up 'til 11 one night, then 3 the next, then 1:30, then 9, etc... Just set your "bed alarm" to 10pm and go to bed. Even if you're not tired.

Yeah, that's probably it, because getting to bed on time is practically impossible for me. Especially since some days I get home at noon and others not until 10 PM.

Well, I know from experience that if you are on Depression medication, it will impact upon your sleep.

If you are finding that you are sleeping more, then perhaps you have "reversed vegetative symptoms" with your depression. Do you eat more as well?

I have "mixed vegetative symptoms" -- I have trouble sleeping, but once asleep I will almost always oversleep. I eat a lot some days and can't eat other days.

I'm rather tired in the mornings but quite awake at night. As Calvin said: "My internal clock is on Tokyo time." But when I do get a nince amonut of sleep (like last night, ~10 hours) I have amazing dreams. Last night's was especially vivid, probably the most vivid I've had in a while, though I can't remember it now. It was fun though from what I can remember.

My problem is mostly to do with not feeling tired--when I get involved in something, I forget all things but the subject I'm doing--hunger, fear, time, reality, tiredness, thirst, etc. This usually causes unpleasant situations; hours later, whatever biological need it is has built up to the point it suddenly slaps me across the face, mentally.

Still, my biggest thing to fight against sleep is eating, drinking, exercising, and feeling motivated to do things. That usually limits it only to when I need to sleep, which is, obviously, about 12-so hours of being awake.

I don't think my internal clock runs on 24-hour time. Given the opportunity to sleep as long as I want at whatever time I want, my sleep cycle tends to line up with the day/night cycle about once a week.

I like how, compared to BMF, my sleeping is not quite as long, but it's broken into parts. (Usually during days when he's gone, it'll be twice a day for about three-four hours... When he's here, usually only one at about 5 hours.)
