Hi all, I wish someone would investigate thoroughly Earthworm Jim 1 & 2 from SNES (the roms), I have a great curiosity to know if these games have content debug or something... and you are right for this task. I only know the mastercode, and all the cheats, I want to know more specifically if these games have content removed or similar.

Thank you very much, I love TCRF, I spend hours reading and testing what you discover often

Probably the only debug-related content in EWJ is the cheat menus (level select, invincibility, etc).

I looked around in EWJ 1 to see if there was any unused music, since there could have possibly been an unused music track from the one level that was removed in the SNES version. The Pro Action Replay code C0ABD4xx (where xx is a two digit hexadecimal number) will let you hear different music at the title screen, but there's no unused music to be found. There probably isn't really any other unused/removed content either, as far as I can tell.

Either way, I think it would be worth having articles about the EWJ games just for the debug menu cheats. There's also a development-related easter egg in EWJ 1 that could be mentioned.

As far as I know, both games were developed on the Genesis primarily and merely ported over to SNES, so the Genesis versions I'd think would be more interesting to investigate. You never know of course, though.

Shiny worked in parallel on the Genesis and SNES version, even though the genesis version came out first, there is actually a documentary that demonstrates it, in the words of the team members (it's in youtube). It's not a port totally...

Regarding the easter egg, I guess you mean the Nick Jones Cheat, hilarious xD

Once, I saw a video showing deleted enemies (or beta) in the firts level of EWJ 2 (Genesis version i think).

Thanks for the replies =)

Also don't forget thereis the Earthworm Jim cancelled PSP remake. Not SNES or Genesis, but if you're interested in Earthworm Jim beta it might be fun to look up.

Is there a game genie code for the EWJ cheat menu? I'd like to modify a rom to have that active by default.

This is a copy and paste of my post from the GSHI (now GameHacking.org) forums:

I was playing a little bit of both games and remembered a button cheat I found for both that either did nothing (Earthworm Jim), or froze the game (Earthworm Jim 2). Based on the cheat id's, they are meant to perform the same function. It could be the "Suicide" cheat found in the PSX (GameShark codes will be released) and Saturn versions, or a level warp of some kind. Here are the codes for each game:

Earthworm Jim

Unknown:
Pause game play and press A, B, X, Y(2), X, B, A.

Earthworm Jim 2

Unknown:
Pause game play and press A, B, X, Select(2), X, B, A.

It would be great to find out the purpose of these.

@ Phugolz: I didn't find any GG codes to do so on the GSHI.

You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and

compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
