That's a trend I can't stand honestly. How does it help the daughters in any way?
Apparently they subscribe to the outmoded belief that being male is always better than being female, and businesses will only ever hire men. So they give their daughters "strong" male names so people will think they're male, or something.
I don't get it either. To me, it seems that women get
more overall freedom of choice and such than men these days, at least in Western countries. Places like Saudi Arabia are different, yes. But the whole "male >>> female always" thing just seems really dumb to me.
