does anyone use hamachi with this game? ever since the update my pals and I just can't seem to connect to each other. I think it has something to do with the game requiring you enter a port when you log in..

Can't just port forward? Thing with hamachi is the connection is technically coming through a different "interface" as much as I can tell, and that might make things weird for some programs.

I've not seen it interfere with any programs with Hamachi. Only thing is it DOES lag more than a direct connection.

do you connect with port 7777?

I am not able to forward ports unfortunately. hamachi works just fine for me, when it works!

So I'm thinking about jumping into this soon, since it seems like everyone's actually playing this.

I just hope it's not gonna be like Minecraft where everyone starts to slowly get sick of it once I jump in for about a week or two and starts showing up less and less. =/

It's harder to get sick of Terraria because you can't just /give and /item yourself all your materials.

It only gets really boring when you've totally annihilated the map's resources and have nothing else to do but run around swinging swords like knights fighting invisible dragons. Or when you've maxed out on everything and such. But then you make a new char :>

My objectives on every map I play:

1. Gear up.
2. Kill boss to get into dungeon.
3. Raid hell.
4. Flood hell.
5. Raid jungle.
6. Build crazy shit.
7. TNT Dynamite, EVERYTHING!

That's when it's time to spend all of your money on Dynamite and raze the entire map to hell, literally.

So on the Cordilon Terraria server, I was hopping down holes, breaking orbs, and then I spawned Eater of Worlds.

I eventually died, and respawned in base.

Now, the Clothier had just appeared not too long ago. It took me a while to finally finish off the Eater of Worlds, and long story short, my biggest prize was the three Red Hats from him dying several times in the process.

Also, seconds after I logged on, a Blood Moon in which Doctor Bones spawned twice.

Got two Rocket Boots from a goblin horde last night, then found two floating islands containing a Shiny Red Balloon and a Lucky Horseshoe. Tonight, I infiltrate the Underground Jungle for armor (and possibly roll a new 1.0.4 world).

On a typical server, though, you can't do this.

Although I think clay generation is bugged and that's the lone exception. Don't quote me on that, though, as I'm not entirely sure.
