Well that applies to pretty much any country that's not called "America", because they know how a transportation network actually works.

Of the three public transit systems I've used (Philly, NYC, DC), the DC metropolitan area has by far the best. It's reliable, clean, the trains are new, the stations are clean and not full of graffiti, and they have smart cards. ![]() |

The only public transit systems I've been on are Boston's, DC's, and London's... out of those my favorite would probably be London's, the subway system covers a wide range (though it could be better signed) and the bus system was extrordinarily well-run. (Admittedly, this is in comparison to the MBTA) ____________________ |

| It's no surprise that the gas prices where I live are only about $3.70. That's not too bad for me, as I rarely have to drive. But if it is between public transportation and using my own car, nine times out of ten, I'll be in my own car going where I must go. Needless to say, I hate public transportation. Who knows what's in there? If I get SARS from some dude from Russia's prison system who's fault is it? I can't blame him or anyone else at that point, except for myself Paranoia to a little extent is okay in that case.Raised gas prices are not too much of a concern to me if I know that by paying this extra money, new jobs are being created for others less fortunate. This is just how I feel about how the gas prices are effecting me. Others may have different opinions based on their income, but I don't have any problems at this point... if the prices go $6-$7, then I might start to get a bit worried ![]() |

There was something interesting a few weeks ago. A gas station happened to be very low on gas, but instead of just closing, they raised the prices to $53.95 in the hopes that nobody would refuel their car at this price. Guess what, two people were stupid enough to do exactly that.

At least to me, Liliana's story is more believable then the idea one might contract SARS from a Russian ex-convict due to taking public transportation...

Liliana: Ich bin recht zufrieden ![]() Although it was only about $14.26 dollars per gallon, that was quite expensive. Good for them they get their money back, $300 and $150 for only 20 and 10 liters (respectively), is quite an amount . |
