Did you ever play any? I know the obvious one that most probably played was Pokemon. Which I did, too. But how about anything else?

My brother and I started out with the original Star Wars CCG (collectible card game). We got an Anthology box which allowed us to play each other. We didn't fully understand the rules or how everything worked, it was fairly complex. Our matches would last an hour or more sometimes.

Then after a year or two we discovered a new TCG coming out for the new Star Wars movies called Young Jedi. This was after we had moved to Las Vegas and discovered there were weekly tournaments and events held for this one and the classic Star Wars CCG. This got us really in to card games and it was about this time we picked up Pokemon. My very first base set pack came with a Charizard in it! We played Pokemon and Young Jedi for a few months and then eventually the Lord of the Rings card game came out and we started playing that, as well.

But soon there after we started playing Everquest together and card games were history. At the time, it seemed like physically casting spells or abilities was better than playing a card with them on it. But now I look back and relish the time playing those card games. I've dug up my old Pokemon decks a few times and went through my card collection, which I still have. But its just not the same anymore.

I played Pokemon and the Yu-gi-oh trading card games... I used to be really into them and such, but I ended up losing interest in Pokemon when I got into Yu-gi-oh, and then lost interest in that when my friends lost interest (though I was among the last to do so...) Nowadays I don't feel much interest in getting back into them, though I think I still have all my cards somewhere... (they'll be worth something someday, surely, right? )

I remember when I first got into the Pokemon TCG it seemed to suddenly become popular at school in the space of like a day, I begged for a free card and someone gave me a red energy, which I somehow managed to trade up to (IIRC) a Vulpix.

I have hundreds of pokemon cards, but they were strictly for collecting purposes only. I'm waiting until they're valuable, then I'll sell them.

You can buy my load of them, if you want to try to make a better profit on them that way.
But first I have to actually sort through the things for which cards I have and how many.

I 'catalog'ed my YuGiOh cards onto a notepad .txt some time ago, if someone wants to see that they can ask and I'll PM or post
(whatever I can do to get rid of them, long as I can get -something- in return)

Heh. Well, maybe later. Right now I already have too many and no space to put more. Maybe if they were a bunch of Rare Base Set 1 Pokemon cards--YugiOh cards were rendered worthless by the company rereleasing the formerly rare cards as common ones, whereas even when Pokemon rereleases a card, it's under a new set label, so the old ones remain valuable.

Trading card games always confused the hell out of me. From what I saw of them, it seemed like the rules of the game changed entirely every time something was done with a card, and it never made sense to me.

However, I've come to a nice compromise with a board/card game series called Dominion. I played it with a few friends about a week and a half ago and I've found myself liking this game immensely. It's expensive though, so I won't be purchasing sets myself unless I start having groups of people over.

I have enough YuGiOh cards to fill 2 binders, and about 200 Pokemon cards, I also house Naruto, Zatch Bell, and Chaotic cards.

Pretty much what Magic: The Gathering did. New rules... All the time

I'm actually rather glad I didn't get into Magic then.

I was given a booster deck thing once, but I never used it, so I just mailed it to a friend of mine who would get more use out of them than I ever would.

I remember rule changes confusing me the one time I tried to follow Yu-gi-oh after being out of it, too... like, apparently Monster Reborn is banned now, or something?

I never was into trading cards.

In my day, they were usually baseball/football/hockey/whatever sport cards. Then, around 2000 I noticed Pokémon cards. I didn't even know that Pokémon was a video game then, I thought it was just a trading card series.

Only got somewhat into Yu-Gi-Oh... but then lost interest and then memetic mutation with a friend caused being into the series and making a Bobobo/Excel/Yu-Gi-Oh crossover fanfics that went [trope=WhatDoYouMeanItWasntMadeOnDrugs]as you'd imagine[/trope].

Now all I have left is a Viper Victory XX03 card he got me as a memento.

I played Pokemon, Digimon, Magic: The Gathering and then some other game that I forgot the name of.

I ended up hating each of them equally.

I've played Pokemon (rather well), Yu-Gi-Oh (poorly, but sometimes things click) and Magic (which I have to constantly reference the rules while playing, but reportedly still do pretty well for a newbie). Pokemon and Magic both with the actual cards and games/computer programs, and Yu-Gi-Oh only through the World Championship games.

I still play Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh, though the former only with my cousins.

I played Magic back in middle/high school, and after playing it at PAX, got back into it. Damn you MTGO for making it super-easy to spend money!

Pokemon got this way, too. After the Gym packs came out, some old cards started to become broken and overpowered for tournament play. It wasn't anywhere near as bad as Magic, which has like 152 expansions... But I think there were a few Pokemon cards banned from tournaments and a few combos not allowed.

I played a bit of Magic: the Gathering back six years ago, when Myr stuff had just come out.

I'm still playing World of Warcraft: TCG and I'm one of the volunteers, organizing games and sorts.

I want to play magic, since it seams quite fun for me, and I do own a few decks and cards to work with... (Like my red and white token deck.)

But... I don't have anyone to play with around here, sadly.

What I meant more with the card thing was that every time someone plays a card in the middle of a game, the rules of the game entirely changed, making it a chaotic clusterfuck that was next to impossible to understand.

I am well aware that the cards changed quite a bit over time though.
