Played it up to Petalburg, found no noticeable gameplay differences, except for the obvious fact that it's all in German.

The debug strings as from drx's screenshots are from the ROM, but unfortunately I have no knowledge on how to access the menu itself.

In any case, I would like to help with documenting.

It does, change the save type to Flash 128KB.

I'm using VBA-m latest (because it runs the best in Wine), but it shouldn't matter.

Huh, I can't get it to do that. Were you in a normal battle when doing that?

Also the flag control and event control menus (In TOMOMITI) are partially in gibberish, which is a shame... (Knowing what the Germanese says would be helpful too)

I've been playing with this quite a bit (it runs nice in gPSP) and will be documenting it here. Others are free to contribute with username Jul, password xxxxxxxxxxxxxx .

Most of the debug menu text is in Japanese (which shows up as gibberish because of font changes) and English, but of course all the text that actually appears in the game is German. I can't read Japanese when it's displayed as gibberish, nor German much at all, and I didn't play this game much (played through it years ago but didn't enjoy it all that much) so I'll probably miss a fair bit.

There... that's everything I've found... next thing to do would be to patch in the Japanese font to be able to read and translate some of those corrupted messages, trace some of those options to see WTF they do, and tear it open and look for unused stuff.

Kinda surprised at some of the options I didn't find. I would have expected some sort of "walk through walls/place player" option, a way to warp to any map (not just anywhere that shows on the town map), a menu option to heal your PokΓ©mon... I bet there's still a bunch more stuff buried in there... I just remembered having stumbled upon something that displayed a little VU meter and played sound effects... hmmm.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned anywhere is the fact that the Transport option allows you to fly to routes too, as opposed to just cities.

There's actually a really funny glitch you can do with this: fly to Route 130. You'll end up inside a rock, walk down it and you'll be able to walk (and even bike!) on water.
