The definition varies quite a bit, so whether you are or you aren't mostly depends on which one you're using.
The most common definition seems to be, "One who has a sexual attraction towards anthropomorphic animals," which obviously isn't the case for you. This is pretty much accepted to be a completely different thing than zoophiles (which, in itself, has a confusing definition, as it can refer to either those who are sexually attracted to animals, and those who are just particularly fond of them), but I doubt you'd be considered as one of those (in the sexual sense) either.
The broader definition, which seems to encompass both the previous definition and the majority of those who call themselves "furries" is, "One who is especially fond of anthropomorphic animals," which may or may not apply to you. This definition is also typically seen as separate from zoophiles, even in the more family-friendly sense, which seems to apply to you fairly well despite the unfortunate alternate definitions.
The final definition can also fall under both or just one of the previous definitions, as it can potentially be used to describe one who wants to be an anthropomorphic animal, which also might apply to you, even though I somewhat doubt it. I can't find the word for it, but this is also seen as a different thing as "one who wants to be an animal," which could potentially apply to you as well.
To me, it seems like you just have an affinity with cats, which doesn't really have a whole lot to do with furries. However, the fact that this affinity apparently extends to catgirls changes the situation, so depending on how much you like them, you might just fall under one (or two) of the above definitions for furry.
What it really boils down to, though, is whether you consider yourself to be one or not, as your definition of yourself (almost) always supersedes any formal definition as long as you're being honest, as I'm sure you're well aware of.
It's up to you to decide who you are, not anybody else. |
