There may be a thread like this already, but I'm too lazy to look. Kill this thread if there is.

Ever get to meet any famous and/or distinguished people? If so, who?

I've met Rick, administrator of TCRF

I've never met any really famous people though. Not too many of them visited the Thumb of Michigan.

Well, my great uncle had a role in the film 21 and got to meet Kevin Spacey.

So that means I have a Bacon number of four, I think.

My sophomore high school History teacher apparently was in Gettysburg, though from what he said, he was one of the dead soldiers that was laying in the shade, since apparently it was hot on that day of recording.

And his facial hair is reminiscent of the era, now that i mention it. XD

If being more than 1 degree from a famous person counts, my grandma got Eleanor Roosevelt's autograph.

I've met Dick Clark and was an alternate in Challenge of the Child Geniuses II, meaning I am approximately two degrees from Kevin Bacon.

I've also been in the same room as Jay Leno and seen him multiple times.

I saw Jackie Chan directly during a Rose Parade, as well as Sully Sullenberger.

Not much else, but that's more than enough.

Oh, since everyone's including appearances, I saw Nobuo Uematsu at a concert thing. That means I like totally breathed in the same oxygen molecules as him or something.

I sat next to Oregon State senator Alan Bates for the better part of an hour once. It was a few years back, though, and I barely remember the context of the event. I do recall cracking a joke that was in pretty poor taste that he laughed at, however.

I want to shoot myself as the only truly famous person I ever ran into was Cedric or w/e his name was that now plays the sparkling vampire of fail.
Which was inevitable since they filmed here.

Been in the same auditorium as the guests of honor at the 2006 AnimagiC anime convention, also might've passed one or two of them elsewhere at the con, but besides that... can't really think of anyone or anything.

I got an autographed book from a children's writer in Year 3. It was a book of funny poems. The one he read out to us was about farting in the bath. I got the autographed copy for explaining why the poem was funny

I need to dig that out again and find out his name. Definitely began with a P...

Oh, man...I forgot there was a movie called Gettysburg (and apparently I missed the word "recording" in there). I was wondering what the hell your teacher was on...

When I was younger, my parents and I went to some of the historic sites in Gettysburg. At one point, I wasn't too careful about where I was walking and I got a few cuts on my arm from a thorny bush. Then, when I got back I could say "I was wounded at Gettysburg"

I shook hands with Christine Gregoire, Governor of Washington when she awarded me an award. (Man, that sounds redundant). My father also knew Gary Locke, ex Governor of Washington and current US Secretary of Commerce. My half-cousin is married to the female lead from Deep Space 9 (or I THINK she was the lead... One of the main female charterers, at least). I think that is it.

I met Charles Martinet at the London SMG2 launch event and got my DSI signed.

I also met Nick Clegg (Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom) when he attended the opining of a new community centre built in my area (I helped out with making decisions during the development of the community centre)

I think I met other famous people but those two really stand out in my memories.
