Yeah, sometimes I notice I can smell the candles without actually having them lit and with the lids on (not the ones with the heavy glass lid). It's very faint though.

I found that the flower scents are way stronger than the others. I had this flower-scented Yankee Candle-brand candle called Midnight Jasmine and it was so overwhelming I couldn't really stand it!

I agree with you - a house should be clean in all respects, not just sight! Because it'd suck if you walked into this gorgeous house and it smelled like cow turds, right? XD

Anyways, I LOVE scented candles, however, I have two cats and one that particularly likes to knock things over - so none for me. I love the glade plug-ins though! An ABSOLUTE must for any house with pets.

New Yankee Candle, the store in general, is just too much for me. The smells make me want to throw up.

Aww! That sucks! One of my exes was like that! He couldn't ever go into Bath and Body Works because his nose was so sensitive? I'm pretty glad my husband has almost no sense of smell - I can drag him in any shop! XD

If only it was a headache, I have to keep from gagging when I get near them too. Headaches are reserved for lesser evils, like singular scented candles.

Speaking of Yankee Candle stores, I simply cannot emphasize enough how totally awesome their lip balms are! They're in the most adorable candle jar-shaped tubes and they smell really great. Moreover, their formulas don't seem to give me an allergic reaction.

Yep! Seriously!

They were doing this offer of two for five, five for ten, which was really, really, really awesome. I only bought two, but now I wish I got five. Ugh.

So far, I think my favorite is pomegranate, so now I can be reminded of antioxidant goodness whenever I bite my lips. Yay for superfoods!

Man, I want that vanilla cupcake one!

or a vanilla cupcake in general now. :3

I really like Tokidoki's lip stuff too at Sephora, if you're into cute and nice packaging.

ANYWAYS BACK TO CANDLES SO THIS IS NOT A MAKEUP~/GIRLY THREAD

Oh, yeah, the vanilla cupcake was the one I got first, actually. It's pretty great! They have a "Christmas Cookie"-flavored one, too, which is a lot like vanilla cupcake, but a little spicier.

I've never seen those Tokidoki things before, but I just looked them up and they look criminally cute. I'll check them out sometime.

Edit: And, um, yeah, scented candles!

Um, their citrus ones are nice, too, if you're into that. My boyfriend bought one of their new flavors, the "Orange Dreamsicle" one and he is using it all the time.

lol one of my best friends was crazy in to that Tokidoki stuff, she used to drag me in to Sephora all the time with her it was pretty cut looking. I GUESS. I'm a dude, I'm not sure I can get away with saying that and keep my man-card.

and psh, if you want stores whose smells give you headaches, trying walking within a three mile radius of an Abercrombie and Fitch. if you can do this without collapsing from inhaling their overwhelming preppy neuro toxins cologne, then you probably have no sense of smell and I envy you in this instance only.

Abercrombie and Fitch is yet another place I could not enter, due to coughing. It isn't quite like the candles, but I get the sensation of being gassed whenever I get near it.

My husband is straight and takes good care of himself - cares about his appearance, wears cologne, and even finds shit cute with me. But he'd do pretty good in a fight if he needed to, so finding a girly thing cute is probably not doing much to your manhood. Confidence, confidence, CONFIDENCE.

I was mostly playing, anyway I very much care about my appearance, probably spend more time on my hair than my female roommate, and also wear cologne. No shame!

to an extent, yeah my own room tends to get pretty cluttered since I am the very definition of disorganized, but the "shared space" I tend to keep as clean as possible just out of courtesy.
