Yowza. That's... one benefit I have for not seeing snow.

Though it is fun to have snowball fights... ...I kinda cheat at them, though.

I used to have a snowball-making mould, years ago. I was bad in snowball fights, though.

Once my dad and I found huge icicles. They break up really quickly when used as swords, though

I used my umbrella as a shield, and my leather jacket was impervious to snowballs. Then I just kept nailing people while walking through their attacks at me with impunity. Mwa ha ha ha.

It's not too bad over here in Wisconsin. Worst we got was yesterday it was below 10 degrees fahrenheit. My sister lives in Chicago though, were it's getting pretty bad. They even cancelled all of her university classes for the whole week, which apparently hasn't been done in over 45 years. And yet, not even a 2 hour delay for my high school. sigh.

We got around 6 inches I'd say. Nothing we can't deal with, but the winds were not nice at all... leading to some snow drifts.

Oh, and walking to the bus stop today? Needed to take my time as I couldn't tell the difference, thanks to the drifts, between the sidewalk and the street.

I've hiked in snow, and washed dishes in 14 degree F weather, but am lucky not to have to live with it... for now.

At least you weren't walking on underwater ice.

Yes, there was actually ice under a puddle. I slid a bit.

I'm in Ohio too, but we must be further south than you. We didn't get that much snow on the 1st, but we did get like an inch of ice! Luckily, it melted pretty quick and the main roads all had time to get treated so I had no problem getting to work, but they still canceled my class on the 2nd. Now it's just frackin' cold! I think it's 11 degrees out right now. Good thing I don't have to go in until 10.

Personally, I know I must be weird but I LOVE the snow! I don't even care if I have to drive in it. If it is going to snow, then I want a ton of it! Give me a level 3 snow emergency any day over the bleak midwinter half rain half snow and grimy sludge nasty January weather that we usually get. Even ice is cool looking, but obviously its pretty scary if you have to drive on it. Needless to say, I love the winter we've been having so far. Plus, it gives me an excuse to stay indoors all day and get stuff done.

I think newly fallen snow is pretty, but that's it. I don't like having to trudge through it to get places and I don't like the accompanying cold.

Still no precipitation over this way but we did get down to the 20s last night. Fortunately and unfortunately, I turned our room heater up to compensate so I didn't feel the cold at all. But I guess I turned it up too far because I work up at 4:30 am sweating under just a sheet, not even the blanket. Had to get out of bed, turn the heater down and then open the outside door for a minute to balance it out. By the time I woke up for work it was just about right.

I like the cold and I don't mind the snow, even when it comes up to my knees. It's ice I hate.

But I'd much rather have rain

Imajin:

That much snow to cause structural damage to the roof and they didn't close the school? Was the superintendent a sadist?

The town is typically extremely good at removing snow for the school buses and such... unfortunately, that removing snow only really applies to the roads.

Plus, the building in question is kind of a pit and the town has been trying to get the state to give it funds to replace it for years- this probably helps their case.

Wouldn't ya believe it? Last night, we got hit with...you guessed it...MORE SNOW. At least another foot or two.

Also, I hear there's talk of there being another snowstorm soon.

Will someone please fund me a trip to a place where there isn't snow so I can get away from it for a while?

There's no snow in Florida. :smugdra:

But it has been raining like crazy the past few days, so it kinda sorta balances out in the end.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
