A lot of actives here haven't hit 1000, though.

There was kind of a die-off of some of the older users at one point. Only a few of the really early ones remain really active.

My guess is when the second AB blew up. Not ABII, but when it was first hsosted on board.acmlm.org.

Seems to me that I2 had a lot of the prominent I1 posters (Christi, Kharpern...) with very few posts, and by ABII most were totally gone.

I miss a lot of the oldbies

Yeah, that - though the shift from AB3 to ABII kinda killed off even more.

We've actually gotten a few of the older users back, here and there, although I'm not sure it's tohught about that much.

I partly switched just because I got tired of having hundreds of people I wouldn't talk to... and partly for better organization.

(Hell, the site I made my old name for has been dead since 2004.)

You weren't at I1? I1 was fairly awesome I2 was mostly a derpfest, IMO.

A lot of my old friends seem to have dumped AIM for Twitter/Skype/MSN/whatever.

I was never at Incarnation 1; I came in Incarnation 2, because I was searching for an old friend whom I only saw present on Incarnation 2: Wolfman2000.

Turns out he had become inactive on Inc 2 by then, however.

Me, I was at I1, then at I2 until I left in summer 2005 because of the drama. I came back in early 2007 right around the split, all confused.
