I sometimes travel by the local bus around here. It used to run until 3 or 4, but nowadays they run 'til 7:00. That's pretty awesome. I may just do my groceries via bus if I get the habit.

Who here travels by the transit bus to save unneeded gas?

I used to take the bus here a lot to get into the city, before they opened the commuter rail. (which is a lot faster, though rather more expensive) The bus is still there, though.

I take the buss in the morning to get to school, safe to say, I'm not impressed by how terrible they are at keeping the time frame so I miss my exchange. :/

I used to take loads of buses when I was at school (20 in one regular week). Now, I hardly take any.

Buses don't run for long enough. I have a friend in South Shields. I get there at 11:30 and I have to leave at 4. That doesn't make up for the 2 hour ride each way.

I don't have a car, so I walk and take buses a lot.

I'm pretty excited about the new light rail and streetcar systems in Seattle, although everything is taking years to get built

I take the bus to and from school everyday. Much easier on my family since they don't have to drive to school and back, then to school again to pick me up. Also gas, which at this point costs more than the bus pass I need to use the bus.

Always. Bus pass for the month here is under $75, which is quite good compared to a lot of places.

At least I usually have 2 bus options to get to work; all I need is to get to the subway (since the bus pass is also the subway pass!) and I'm fine.

Ours is $175 for the term. Eventually it's worth it, but still. :|

I take the bus to and from work. Cost isn't too bad, ~$60 for a month pass.

Paulguy's Post configuration
I don't. The bus is rather scary. What with possibly taking the wrong one and ending up somewhere unknown, and the biggest problem being the people on it. I've been on the bus a few times in my life with people, and each time the people on it have been rather loud and argumentative with each other, and I worry they may get me involved in their crap, and being around a lot of people just makes me uncomfortable anyway, especially if they're loud.

I also can't drive so it leaves me in a rather unfortunate situation.

My university includes an eight month bus pass in tuition. It's kind of nice. Buses in this city run from 5 in the morning until just past midnight... which is really nice for getting around.

I don't ride the bus at all due to a little problem I never got fixed.

I walk my way to school everyday, and while it's not too far(at least compared to last year when I had to walk much further), I do get a little tired from it. Although it's not a big problem for me, it does limit the distance I can go from home and not waste a lot of time just walking.

Little more expensive than the student passes here... I think it's ~$150 for a 4-month student pass.

Still. Dirt cheap compared to gas.

When I'm around the Bangor area, I take it a lot. I know the bus routes by heart.

Especially because people who have a MaineCard can get on for free anytime. I have a MaineCard from the University still.

I haven't taken a bus since 2004.

I'm not too sure how SEPTA is, nowadays - I remember some buses just never showing up or showing up rather late, though for the most part it wasn't too bad.

I remember taking trains a lot, too - that part, I'll admit, I kinda miss.

I prefer the trains, because outside of Manhattan the buses are just fucking terrible.
I mean, okay. In the Bronx, aside from the Select Bus Service (an "express" service where you get a ticket from a machine outside the bus, and the bus drivers seem to always be literally the worst of the worst), service is decent. But God forbid you go to Queens... Augh, just thinking about it makes me angry.

Are the buses any cheaper than the trains in NYC, Supa? I've taken the subway and PATH trains plenty of times, but I've only taken a bus once and I forgot what the price was.
