| Anyhow, for one of my music courses at school last year, I chose to record an album under the Tokyo Gore Police moniker, ripping off a B-grade Japanese gore movie (which I saw the name of on one of the guys from Cyanide and Happiness's blog) and about three or four different bands in the process of doing so. Anyway, the resulting product was "Television Nation" - a 65 minute long album that summed up all of my ~pretentious inde rock~ influences in that time, which was pretty much a solid combination of My Bloody Valentine, Joy Division, Aphex Twin, Sigur Ros and Public Image Ltd. I played all the instruments on the album, and programmed all the electronica that was on it. I released "Television Nation" online on the 11th November, and at the moment I'm writing/recording my second album. It's a much more psychedelic affair, drawing influence from Spacemen 3, the Black Angels, the Brian Jonestown Massacre, as well as My Bloody Valentine. Again, I'm recording it all by my lonesome, and I'm probably gonna release another two albums (at least) on top of this one as well. Facebook fan page last.fm page Slightly inactive Wordpress MySpace (lolwut) page (note: there are some demos here that I haven't released anywhere else) And now some music: #4 - a track that was left over from "Television Nation". It wound up on an EP that can be downloaded for free from last.fm. Darkness is a Mortal Soul Corrupted by my Misery - an electronica track I uploaded the other day. Nightmares in the Sky - a drone piece that I've recorded for the second album. And some bulk releases/album/EP/whatever, hosted by Rambly: Television Nation Blind EP |
