I don't understand why some webcomic writers/artists do this. The reason newspaper comics are laid out the way they are is because they have to share space with a million other comics. Comic books typically have a standard size that makes them easy to read and carry about.

But if you're developing a comic for the internet, it's going to be viewed on a screen that can be scrolled down infinitely. Design it with that in mind.
