That is true in a sense; however, there's a few sections of the sidewalk that wouldn't fall under that rule because there's no actual house/walkway in front of it.

So for example... my house and the house next door have the sidewalk shoveled, but a plow would still need to go over it to wipe away the excess snow and ice. Further down, however, there's a portion of the sidewalk near the corner which doesn't have a walkway in front of it... and there's a gigantic mound of snow there that's almost impossible to get past.

It was like that in Michigan, too. My aging grandmother could no longer keep the sidewalks clear on her large corner lot, which is part of the reason why she moved.

I know some people had some ice on their cars this morning, but that, WOW. And that's only three to five hours away from me.

It's 39 (4) degrees right now.

However weather channel says it's cooler than that.

I'm noticing for some weird reason that the precipitation around here is alternating between rain and snow. I think it's supposed to rain tomorrow, so I'm expecting snow hopefully soon after.

Bring it on for a white Christmas, I suppose.

I've been kept awake by those trucks back in Detroit.

Of course, that's also when I'd go to bed at like 2 in the morning and get 5-6 hours of sleep before I had to go to school, still tired

Yeah, I lived in a high-rise with a huge parking lot next to an office tower with a huge parking lot when I was there, so I'd hear the plows constantly backing up and beeping and such to clear the parking lots.

And with the high-rise, they couldn't clear around the already-parked cars, so they just pushed more snow around them.
