Things look to be going nicely, at least Senate-wise. I can only hope the polls were right about CA, as we were already wrecked by ol' Ahhnuld as it was.

Looks like we're going to be rid of Governor "Uncle" Ted Strickland, here.

Which is an improvement, since he virtually didn't do anything his entire term.

House results:

Really not liking that Nevada is still with 0% reporting. Please tell me Angle isn't going to be a senator.

Also, blah. This is a disaster... At least I can take some comfort in knowing that the scumbag politics from Conglomo™ bought a good part of the election (speaking from experience, here, about 85% of political ads on TV were for Republicans, and about 95% of those ads were paid for by some shady PAC that didn't list donors).

Even if the Senate is still in Democratic control (which is looking a bit too uncertain ) absolutely nothing is going to get done. We've already seen how well things went with 58 senators -- Republicans doing the stonewall, of course -- and I imagine that with the House in R control and the Senate firmly deadlocked we're going to see pretty much nothing. Worst part will be the inevitable Democratic spineless cowardice letting the R's pass anything, but at least Obama will likely throw in some vetoes.

Oh well. At least we got some shit done and got things back on the road to recovery. Now to watch it all go to shit again.

Don't sound so optimistic... Obviously Americans thought it was time for something different. Things can only get better.

And the past 2 years was not just the result of 1 President. It had been brewing for at least 2 decades over several presidents and many red vs blue changes in congress. Just because the GOP has the House again does not mean our economy won't continue to recover.

Edit: At least the Governor is still GOP here in Nevada. No thanks to me, lol. I really should have voted but oh well.

Thankfully... not. Reid's projected to win with a fairly healthy 50-45 lead over Angle.

Obviously Americans thought it was time for something different. Things can only get better.

Dunno if it's "something different" or "sending a message", but... you can't fix all the problems within 2 years.

The Florida Governor race is extremely close, 49% to 48%.

Washington, Colorado and Alaska haven't been declared yet by CNN. First two are too close to call; Alaska's interesting because Lisa Murkowski appears to have the lead; she *LOST* the Republican primary to Joe Miller and then decided she'd run a write-in campaign. Might have been a good strategy.

Most of Washington votes by mail and the ballot only has to be postmarked Election Day, so I wouldn't be surprised if they took a while to get the votes in.

Me, I voted no more than a few days after I got the ballot

Sandoval is an idiot. Hi, vote for me. I don't have any actual plans, budgets, or ideas other than slashing education, but Rory is clearly a taxing socialist lobbyist angry bastard and his name ends with Reid. So vote for me.

I bet he's just itching to get that bottom spot in the education ladder back!

Just because the GOP has the House again does not mean our economy won't continue to recover.

I hate to break it to you, but it can get worse, easily. Take the financial regulations. Get rid of those, and we're right back at square one, what started this whole mess. Sign me up.

Don't sound so optimistic... Obviously Americans thought it was time for something different. Things can only get better.

The political airwaves were flooded pretty much the entire last several months with nothing but GeneriPAC™ ads telling you that you should be angry, pissed off, and definitely not voting for Harry Reid/Titus/whoever.

I strongly disagree on the "only get better" part, too. Especially since things can get trashed pretty easily. More outsourcing! Less jobs! Tax cuts for the rich only! No thanks.

Oh well. I did my part — I cast my vote. The GOP showed up in bigger numbers and voted their way, for better or worse. Obama can veto stupid shit the Republicans will try to jam through for another two years, at least.

I wonder if Sharrrrrrrrron Angle's going to be using those second amendment remedies yet.

Reminds me, I need to see what that guy's house looks like now. He had to have had at least 3 or 4 signs saying "ELECT ANYONE BUT HARRY REID" all over.

Poor bastard.

I predict Murkowski will end up losing, thanks to votes from mysterious candidates like "Lisa Mukowski"...

Even better - have "Mukowski" win! Then once nobody can find her there'll be a whole bunch of legal mudslinging and we'll end up with another election in 5 months time.

Still no verdict on Murray vs. Rossi according to CNN.

Ugh, the Pubs took the House by a large margin At least the Dems still have the Senate (barely) for another 2 years.

I seem to be part of the minority here when it comes to political alignment... Anything I say falls on deaf ears. Meh

I do find it interesting that the Senate race was fairly close with Reid having only a 40,000 vote lead over Angle but the Governor race was steeply for Sandoval. The majority of states are the same color for Senate and Governor but Nevada is just special. Several other states are similar though. Arkansas and New Hampshire for sure with Minnesota and Illinois following suit.
