Use your own definition of "interesting". Foreign coins, old silver coins, counterfeit coins, whatever.

I'm in the USA and I've found the occasional coin from the Bahamas Their 1-cent coin has a sea star on it, which looks rather cool. Canadian coins got intermixed a lot in Michigan, to the point of annoyance as I usually take coins to the bank rather than just spending the coins again like many people do. Not as much here. I also remember finding a Brazilian (?) coin in France or Germany. Their coins do look rather like euro coins

I have a cup with rare US coins and pesos and I think it has my brother's Peruvian currency in it too. (I should give those back to him)

I used to have all the state quarters up until about 2005 or 2006 but then I spent them on something. And a few $2 bills. Not the rare ones, though. That's about it.

I've got a penny encased in a silver ring that has "If you keep me" on one side and "You'll never go broke" on the opposite side. Chances are it's not legal so I couldn't really spend it and I'd be broke anyways.

"A horrible person". That's what it says. "A horrible person."

We weren't even testing for that.

I got a Thai 10 baht coin for exchange in a department store. It looks almost exactly the same as the two Euro coin, I only discovered it at home.

It is worth nothing, but I guess I could throw it into a vending machine and it would probably accept it.

EDIT: dunno why it just cut my post in half.

I have a few silver dimes (1944, 1958, and 1963), two 1923 silver dollars, assorted euro coins, some yen coins... although I really want Russian rubles =)

I have a bunch of yen I forgot to declare to customs and somehow got away with from like...five years ago? Few Canadian pennies and some amount of Mexican currency that probably isn't worth anything there either, as well.

My grandparents travel all over and bring me gifts from where they where. It's pretty cool, I have coins from like 15 different countries.

Someone left a yen coin on the drier at some point years ago, but I forgot what it was worth. I think it was 10y.

Other than that, not really much of note. Just some random pennies.

A random US dime. I got five Equadorian cents from a vending machine once too...

I also have a non-US dollar but I don't recall where was it from...

Yeah, nothing interesting.

When I was younger I put a $20 bill in a change machine and got 80 quarters, and there were some weird ones. don't remember exactly. There was one that was different and had a hole on the top. I think a few foreign ones that I forget.

I mostly get Canadian money, though, when it's not something usual. I live about 5 minutes from the Canadian border so there's a good bit of diffusion.

Dunno what type of coin it is (it's around here somewhere) but a few years back I got a Moroccan coin in my change.

American pennies are incredibly common around here.

Every once and a while some sort of foreign coin will turn up in my change. I remember that I once found some sort of European coin that look almost exactly like a penny . I'm not sure if I have any old coins laying around, I rarely check the dates on my money so who know what I might have had/might even still have if I start checking. In Canada (or in Ontario at least) it seems like there are hundreds of different types of commemorative coins that are just about as common as regular coins. It seems like every time I recieve change I always get either a a commemorative year 2000 toonie or a special 2010 Olympics quarter, it's not like they're worth anything though since they're so common .

The USA is like that too, Higsby. We have 50 state quarters, the DC and territories quarters, a new series of national park quarters, the Lewis and Clark nickels, and the cents with scenes from Abraham Lincoln's life.

Anyone seen those new pennies with the badge thing on the back? Looks like bad clipart. The old design is much better and more intricate.

Somewhere I have a Canadian nickel from 1945. Back then they had a number of flat edges (I think 8 or 10) instead of being round.

Also a 1000-won bill, which is ~$1 worth of Korean money, and a Canadian $2 bill, which went out of print in 1992 IIRC. Few other foreign coins and bills too. Fairly decent collection.

My dad used to collect coins, but he's just slowly selling off his collection now. He has a bunch of ancient roman coins and such.
