| I tried that online demo thing before and didn't really get it, but now that this is free for a short time, I decided to give the real version a shot. Why the hell did I think giving someone with no sense of direction a goal-less game with randomly generated caverns was a good idea? I think I was stuck in one cave for like an hour, I had to dig myself out using 40 or so rock blocks. Sad thing is, after all that, I'll probably never find the original entrance to the cave again. At least I got a bunch of diamonds and a crapload of red... things. |

| And now, let me show you the wonders of my world. (When these screenshots were taken, I was using the Painterly Pack with the aforementioned fancy Halloween stuff.) My home is a very spacious place with many, many rooms available to use for whatever I see fit. It's design resembles an apartment building, so I call it my Apartment Building. Inside one of these rooms, a safe can be found which contains everything I deem to be extremely valuable. It is designed specifically so that I can lock myself in, which would be handy if it suddenly started raining lit TNT one day. On the rooftop, one can see just how much I love torches and other flaming things. A short walk from my house is this large wooden spire. At the top, one would find the only door that leads into this spire. Beyond this door, however, lies a pit which would send anything that fell in it straight to oblivion. As such, the spire is known as the Oblivion Spire. Next to the place which I used to call my home, a giant floating cube looms over the coastline. If one were to swim up the stream of water falling from the cube, the only entrance to this simple and orderly structure, one would find that the inside is a world of chaos and complexity. In climbing to the glass roof of this structure, one can see my strange affinity for glowing objects from a different angle than before. Speaking of glowing objects, one can also find a particularly intriguing one in the sea next to my home. However, the entrance to this place is much less obvious. One of the rooms in my house, though, contains a secret underground passage, designed with both security and torches in mind. On the other side, one would finally be inside the underwater glass pyramid, where one found find several blocks made of precious metals and a chest containing a full set of golden tools and equipment. Far, far away from my home, a mysterious floating island can be found with an obviously man-made dirt staircase leading up to it from the nearby land formation. Up close, one can see that a few torches have been placed on the island, yet they are much more modestly used than nearly every other formation of torches seen before in my world. On the farthest end of the island from the staircase, this can be found. Can you solve the mystery of the floating island? For the record, everything here has been built fair and square, so to speak, so no give commands and the like were used. |

Originally posted by dirbaio If I made a grave for every time I died, my world would have a handful of graves in various spots. However, this is the only one. Look at the big picture, and think a bit deeper. Originally posted by Boing This is actually a much better method than the one I used. (It can be a little tricky to find a good spot and then build something to support the sand directly over it, though.) I just built mine one column of blocks at a time while being very careful not to drown. You were right about the rest, but I also dug an underground tunnel to it from a grassy area, allowing the grass to slowly make its way to the pyramid. After that, I sealed off the tunnel, and I made another one that connected to my house. Also: Yeah, I use a lot of torches, but I still have a treasure chest completely full of coal. As such, I don't have to worry about running out. |
