Please, don't make this October as bad as last No "Type with your hallux" threads, except maybe the CAPS LOCK thread, as INTERNATIONAL CAPS LOCK DAY is on the 22nd.

Halloween is coming up, of course, and Columbus Day is an extra day off of school for some Americans. Any October plans for any of you?

October for me means.... 3 paychecks! Theres always 2 months of the year that we get 3 paychecks in 1 month. Today is the first of 3 this month. But most of it is going towards my wife's birthday tomorrow night. It'll definitely be a fun night!

Halloween this year will be about our 2 sons, like it will be for the next 14-16 years Not sure what we're going to dress them as yet. Last year I was a Jedi (as I had been the past 4 years) and my older son was Yoda. This year I won't be dressing up again unless pressured into it. That costume was good for 4 years but now its getting old. I spend about $150 on it total for the boots, belt, and material. My mom made it for me, she's a pretty good seamstress. She also made an awesome Arwen dress for my wife. Looks like this one.

The only thing that really stands out for me about October is the fact that it has Thanksgiving in it for us crazy Canadians. Well that and Halloween I suppose, which I haven't concerned myself with for the past two years .

My mom had breast cancer in 2003.

It was pretty scary, but she survived. She lost her hair to a cancer treatment, though, and then it grew back curlier.
