I always preferred regular soft drinks. Diet ones had a certain off-taste that I didn't like. Similarly, I have very little tolerance for lowfat milk (on the rare occasion that I drink milk at all) or juice or whatever.

What about you?

I drink lite or diet stuff to help keep me on my diet guilt-free.

I'm gonna try and get back on it fairly soon.

I'm a firm believer that the "taste difference" between diet and normal is bullshit.

Except in Dr. Pepper's case. Diet beats the shit out of regular.

I always get THAT taste when I drink diet. You know which one. The aspartame taste.

Regular is where it's at. If you're going to drink the stuff, you might as well go all-out.

That would be because your tongue does not function.

Regular. Fuck aspartame.

Paulguy's Post configuration
Regular, the artificial sweetener tastes like someone got dirt in it.

I don't drink too much pop, though.

Diet. The regular stuff always leaves a sticky residue that I don't like.

Or, if I can, the Max or Zero versions.

Whatever I feel like at the moment.

I actually like the "diet" taste.

Then again, I don't drink soft drinks very often at all.

I rarely drink any, but when I do, I go for the regular. I don't care if it has more of whatever, I don't want my drink to taste weird.

Diet, since I never really liked regular in the first place... and I prefer store brands over Pepsi, Coke, etc. since they use Splenda instead of Aspartame =P

I drink diet sodas. Mostly Diet Mountain Dew if I can get it but hardly any gas stations have it. I know a few but they're all far away so I try to hit them up if I'm on that side of town.

I used to drink regular soda about 10 years ago. My mom always had her diet soda and before then I couldn't stand the taste of it. When I was about 14 we all did Atkins (protein diet) together and switched to diet sodas. Since then I've come to prefer diet. Drinking regular gives me this wad of syrup and saliva mixed in my mouth. Pretty nasty. I prefer aspartame/splenda instead of high fructose corn syrup.

I mostly drink just water and I hardly ever drink sodas anymore, but when I do, it's regular all the way. First, if you're going to drink something as unhealthy as a soda, drinking a diet soda is about as effective as smoking a light cigarette, so you may as well get the full taste of it. Second, I've tried diet sodas for the heck of it, and every one I've tried has had this strong shit aftertaste that I can't stand that makes the soda undrinkable for me. Third, I much prefer the initial taste of regular soda over diet any day so why settle for less?

In the world of Coke and Pepsi, they've happily created no-calorie versions of their original product

Personally I think that the whole zero calorie thing is just one giant scam developed by corporations to lure in people to eat more of their products.
